June tenth, Madison Square Garden. WBO super lightweight title at stake, third defense of Taylor. López is that organization's number one mandatory contender, and holder of its 140lb international championship (and formerly, mercurially, its world champ at lightweight, capturing the belt in a unification with Vasyl Lomachenko just to flip it to George Kambosos Jr. in his first defense).

The southpaw titlist has an inch of both height and reach over his challenger, who is seven years his junior. Both men have 13 kayos in 19 outings, the only difference being that López has the one defeat and Taylor is yet unblemished.

Not sure how well Lopez handles the brutal spanking from Taylor. I for one look forward to seeing his father's reaction.

I like Taylor by competitive decision or late stoppage.

If Taylor can recapture the form he displayed in defeating Prograis and Ramirez, he'll batter Lopez.

Taylor does what Loma did to Teo in the second half of their fight, only he starts 6 rounds earlier, and stops him late. Possibly even earlier. Clearly southpaws give him problems, especially ones with excellent right hooks like Sandor Martin, Taylor does too, and unlike Sandor... he's not a featherfist. Come to think of it, this might be an out and out butchering.... and I'm here for it!:D

This is a good fight. Both guys have looked beatable in recent fights. I’m not even sure Teo beat that Spanish guy in his last fight. Sandoval Martin or somehow like that.

This is a crossroads fight for both guys. I’m rooting for Taylor because I want to see the Catteral rematch and because Teo is a coward for not giving Loma the rematch. Hope it’s a good one and I suspect it will be.

I don't like either guy so I'm hoping for a double KO.

    I think Taylor takes it.
Either points or late rounds stoppage.
Teo is quick to get sucked into a war
& Josh will be in his head early jawing at him
    Suckering him in.

Two unlikeable guys who have both looked poor in their last fight.

Taylor has been very inactive in the past 2 years, only fighting once since becoming undisputed and, in the eyes of many, losing. There’s also a serious question of whether he can still safely make 140, he already looked drained against Catterall in early 2022.

Whereas Teo has looked poor since beating Loma, and doesn’t seem to have the power or confidence he had at 135.

Skill-wise, Taylor is the more talented boxer so I’m leaning towards Taylor, but no outcome would surprise me, they’re both very flawed and easily beatable by elite competition, so it’s a close match-up.

The next biggest fight for me, 2 prime fighters who are 2 of the best at 140 and will put on a show. Haney-Loma is the more historically significant fight coming up, but Loma didnt look good in his last fight and that was against a guy he was supposed to easily beat, so my excitement level for that one is a 6.5-7, i think Haney will win a UD. Taylor-Lopez is more of a 9 in terms of excitement for me.
