Most likely some of it is due to, like me, he's outspoken in his passionate disdain for political correctness and wokeness.

Looking for Taylor to lay a beating on that trash talking clown. I want to see Teos father cry.

Taylor's not fought in over a year, might struggle again at the weight and last looked awful against Catterall. I think he's been overrated for years but not sure if Teo will be the one to finally get a win over him. But I'll go with Teo to win a decision.

A couple of people here are saying Taylor is overrated...Lopez record of 18-1 is the worst record Josh Taylor has fought in 8 fights...Jeez if he's over rated what the hell is everyone else!
He might be struggling to make the weight now, and if that's the case it could be a close fight, if he doesn't struggle this is going to be a one sided beat down with Lopez stopped late - there's levels to boxing!

A 16-0 Taylor beat a 24-0 Rougarou. Sure it was very close but the general consensus among fans is that it was a deserved victory.

A 17-0 Taylor went over to the US to beat a 26-0 JCR in his backyard, dropping him twice in the process and he may well have stopped him had the home ref not given JCR those long counts.

    A 12-0 Taylor beat a 28-1 Postol

    A 14-0 Taylor beat a 19-0 Baranchyk

    A 13-0 Taylor beat a 22-0 Ryan Martin

A 10-0 Taylor beat a 39-5 Miguel Vazquez who had only lost once legitimately in 9 years since losing to Clenelo. Officially he suffered 2 losses during that time but one was a robbery. And Taylor was the first fighter to stop him too

A 9-0 Taylor destroyed a 15-0 Ohara Davies, the same Ohara who arguably beat Catterrall in a razor-close affair

A 7-0 Taylor bashed up Shawn Porter and Ugas in the gym, sending the later to the hospital with a injured jaw

He beat five world champions and became only the fifth undisputed champion in the four-belt era and a P4P top 10 ranked fighter in just 18 fights

You don't achieve all of that and beat all those the fighters unless you're a very good fighter and one bad day at the office doesn't undo all that

Taylor is an arrogant bellend, Teo I just can't stand.

But as a boxing fan I like the fight....can make a case for either winning.

    So draw.

I don't think anyone's disputing how good a figher he is though....it's his attitude and arrogance, failure to accept he should have a legitimate loss on his record...& it's not the first time he's come away fortunate with the score cards.

Oh, I've seen plenty argue he's overrated.

I'm talking about his ability not his personality and the scorecards against Rougarou were fair, close but he edged and deserved it in most people's eyes.

Then they've obviously not seen enough of him and they're coming out all of a sudden labelling him overrated because he's bigging himself up after a being gifted a win...how many were really calling him that before the fight with Caterall?

I had him just about winning the Regis fight but doesn't change he was still fortunate to come away with the decision.

I've seen people saying it before Catterall too albeit a lot less. I even saw someone who did a prediction video for his fight against Ohara claim that there was no way he could win, that he was devoid of skill, and that Ohara was actually the much more skilled fighter of the two of them. He did delete it after the fight though

I had him edging Rougarou. Thought it was a very close but deserved win. Rougarou is a really good fighter too and it was a hell of a fight.

    I don't understand the "Taylor's overrated" sentiment.

The kid has defeated essentially every fighter of consequence among his contemporaries at 140, notwithstanding the Catt fight and perhaps Zepeda.

At his absolute best, Taylor is a bottom-of-the-top 10 type P4Per.

Personally I've never been overly impressed by his skill set. I think he's benefited from fighting in a rather weak division that's flattered his true ability. Not saying he's a hype job or even a bad fighter, just not as good as most think he is.

He doesn't move his head, has a basic defence and basically relies on his size to overwhelm smaller fighters. Nothing wrong with that worked well for plenty of fighters like Margarito, Bowe etc. It's just not my preference in regards to style and think he is far from complete as a fighter as the Catterall fight showed.

In terms of his P4P ranking, I'd have Uysk, Loma, Canelo, Beterbiev, Crawford, Inoue, Spence, Bivol, Stevenson, Davis, Fury above him. So he wouldn't be in my top 10 P4P rankings. Though I have no problem with anyone who has him near the bottom of the top 10 P4P, he's there or there abouts.

Teofimo beating Taylor to me is one of the biggest wins of 2023 if not the biggest. Teo would have beaten the two top guys in both divisions as the underdog.

NGL, it'd be funny as hell if this happened and then he lost to an undefeated but unheralded Aussie in the division...yet again.

Liam Paro, it's nearly your time! :ibutt
