There should be at least a decent bout. But there isn't.

This is true of many boxing shows these days.

If they wanted to put a few good fights on the undercard they would... It's all ££..

Many others that will get a nice few quid out of this around aj & klitschko, not just them, that's the whole point of a big money fight, everyone involved gets excited about it cos they know what's coming

Boxing is a business, there is many people who will be lining their pockets on this, so it would be a drain on people's dough to have a decent undercard. And don't forget most of ajs fans are rank casuals.. They will be drinking through the whole undercard not giving a care about it, why is Eddie going to put a decent undercard on when he knows most of the casual minions won't even be watching? This fight makes its dough off the back of klit-aj alone..

It's a shame boxing runs how it does , but I remember being at froch and groves , the arena had empty seats everywhere right until the main event, that's because as a sport boxing isn't as big and as liked as us hardcore fans would like it to be. This ppv will be widely bought by casuals.

Like it or not the casual market in boxing is bigger than the hardcore

 

I'm going the fight and don't care too much about the undercard. This is how it should be, if you're bothered about the main event watch it, if you're not, then don't. Better than the main event being a joke but fights you really want to watch (that shouldn't be PPV) are on the undercard.

It's never going to be cheap to get someone like Wlad over, and I'm intrigued to see what happens. If Wlad wins it enhances his legacy a good amount, but I'm hoping it's the night AJ proves himself as the real deal.

What will be disappointing is if Wlad is completely shot making it difficult to give AJ much credit. I'm in the camp who gives Fury huge credit for beating Wlad, and don't just think it was Wlad being shot, so I'm seriously hoping that won't be the case.

Can't make it to Brook vs Spence but I'll pay the PPV because I can't wait for the fight and I'm glad they've been able to get Spence over. Eubank Jr vs Quinlan was a farce, as was Haye vs Bellew ... so I didn't pay a bean to watch them (only the beers I drank which I likely would have done anyway!).

 

For example they could be putting fights 'like' Crolla vs Linares or Burns vs Idongo on the undercard. Not saying it would have made a great deal of sense, but much better them being on normal Sky fight nights.

 

This, it's ridiculous to say that they can't have competitive, interesting fights on the card because of the main event purses? How much do you think Rosado will be getting to fight Murray? Guaranteed it's sub £100k. They are selling 90k seats ffs, they have enough money to put at least one attractive fight on the undercard. It's like some people are pleased to have to pay £20 to watch a fight that could last one round and not much else.

This is such a crap card, people are paying to watch this in the stadium when they won't even be able to see what's happening in the ring with their naked eye lmfao!

 

I agree it's silly, and I agree there are other money making avenues and as a proper fan of boxing it aggravates me.

There should be a better undercard but like I said this is making dough purely on klit-Joshua.

So, yeah, they could afford to have a better undercard , but they haven't got one have they, and if anyone thinks that there's another reason for that other than klit-Joshua and their entourages want the lions share of the dough then they've got their head in the sand and don't understand the business side of the sport.

Big earnings big tax, this would be less lucrative for all involved with a stellar undercard.

That works out ok for you though, doesn't it? If it's 6 hours of bums then you've got an easy decision to make. Pay to watch AJ vs Wlad, or don't.

You all must be forgetting how dear of a fighter klitschko is to have, you remember what the prices were gonna be for fury rematch?

people are too negative on here/ moan too much, seem to moan about every card. However it's perfectly valid to complain about this one! Huge mega event. Wembley stadium, 90,000 people, millions going into the pockets of the main event fighters, fans travelling from all over the country. unbelievably bad undercard!

 

I would say taking a risk on the main event is part and parcel of it to be honest mate. If I was around in the US 30 years ago I would have gladly gone to watch a few of Mike Tyson's fights. No idea what some of those undercards were like.

We are relying on Wlad quite a lot for this fight to be truly meaningful (and worth our dosh). I'll be incredibly surprised if it's AJ who stinks the place out. All things considered I'm happy to be going. Campbell vs Mendy would have made the undercard a lot tastier, but still I'm looking forward to seeing Quigg. And the Katie Taylor fight should be great opportunity for a beer run.
