Exactly this. The technique was spot on, it's the speed that was gone. Wlad's corner should have told him to switch back to his straight punches and to mix it up a bit.

And stamina was gone. People kept talking about how good shape Klitschko was in but he was clearly gassing out. Those left hooks were laboured and could see them coming a mile off. They also looked desperate as if they were thrown more in hope rather than in expectation of landing. He gave it his all and even though I can't stand Wladimir he went up in my books. Can't really ask more from 41 year old coming off the couch (relatively speaking!) and a loss boxing in London under those circumstances. He may also have went for it and won had it not been for very bad advice from his brother.

Shame he xan`t block with his left glove too, that`s why he got floored by a right hand in that fight too.

AJ today has too many scars compared to back then while also not having the same reflexes he did in his mid to late 20s. Dubois also put fear in AJ’s heart before the fight had even started with the way he was walking around the ring during the announcements making AJ tentative. Dubois was convinced he was going to destroy AJ while AJ was unsure if he could take Dubois.
