Joshua needs to drag this Wilder negotiation out as long as possible. Wilder will fold.

Deontay Wilder is 32 years old and starting to realize that his career will not go on forever. His legacy for now at least is one to be forgotten. Filled with fighting cans and that's about it. But legacy is another matter and a ship that I'm afraid has already sailed.

But now the dude is strapped for cash. He's spending, spending, spending. And enough money isn't coming in to accommodate his lifestyle. He's already straining for cash out fights in the prime of his career. Which means the debt is mounting and this dude will almost surely go broke one day.

Joshua is 27 years old. Is not strapped for cash. A huge financial draw in some parts of the world. Seems to have his head screwed on right. He's been in entertaining fights and has delivered the fans the goods. Is he a great fighter? As of yet, hardly. But he's Wilder's avenue for cash. And Wilder wants that money.

Wilder is starting to want that money now. He's spent his career ducking any challenge, but now he wants to step up for cash. He's making uncharacteristically brash claims like "Fight me or give me my belt", "50/50 or no fight".

I say to Joshua call his bluff.
Is Wilder his mandatory? I don't think so. Is Wilder anywhere close to the same draw? I don't think so. So just don't sign the fight anytime soon. Wait a few years, hell even five years and then have Wilder's broke ass come crawling to him for a fraction of the purse. Then knock him out.

The only real casualty of this is Wilder's disabled daughter. Would be nice to make sure you don't go broke so that you can ensure your daughters future. Instead of binging on coats, cars and whatever else he binges on.

"Give me my belts". "50/50 or no fight". Sit down son. Joshua is calling the shots here, not your broke ass.

    Yup .

Deontay is called a role model and a family man who bravely took up boxing to provide for his disabled daughter..

Yet beats up the mentally disabled, beats up hookers he thinks are stealing from him, gets caught with drugs and blows all his money on goady coats and cars.

Deontay welfare will end up in the same state riddick bowe is in now

if joshua cares anything about legacy he needs wilder this year. how would fighting a wilder who has been ko'd multiple times five years from now do anything for either? five years from now neither will have a belt.

I agree, Joshua should take his time, fight Wilder a few years from now :) What's the rush?
The 'fans' should be ok with that, after all they are ok with Gervonta Davis waiting for Loma to get old, and they were ok with Alvarez stalling on GGG, the time is on Joshua's side :)

Well then don't fight Wilder. Deontay isn't a legacy fight either. Who has Wilder beaten? A past prime Stiverne? That's his entire resume.

If Wilder cleans out the top 10 then he can fight Joshua for a legacy fight. And he will have earned the payday. For now, thaw his ass out.

This is different. Wilder isn't a legacy fight. He hasn't beaten anybody. He's a nobody on the resume of Joshua.

Has there been some statement somewhere about Deontay Wilders finances? There seems to be alot of mention of him being broke this last 24 hours. Have i missed something?

And if so, how much did he pay for that technicolor turd jacket he wears? Pretty much the worst item of clothing ive ever seen, it should be illegal.

Wilder might not fold as I genuinely believe he knows what happens and having feared that outcome from the day he became champ is happy to avoid it entirely.

He has made enough money to live off comfortably for the rest of his life if he wants to live modestly.

who is joshua going to fight right now? aside from parker and wilder? there are two very old guys in povetkin and ortiz. then there are a bunch of prospects not ready. the rest are bums. the top 20 right now is as pathetic as anytime in history.

What if he's spent all the money he's made? Or has outstanding debts? Which is the likely case. He will eventually fold.

Deontays got enough money in merchandise, to last until he's a 150 old man. Just ordering my bronze bomber socks right now, will make a wonderful Christmas present.
