If Wilder and his team want 50/50 and to stage the fight in America then they need to take all the gambles and put the money up, end of discussion!

The reasoning is this:

• Anthony Joshua could reasonably expect to earn £20,000,000 for this fight if it were staged in the U.K. So if Wilder wants an even payday he and his team need to find £40,000,000 to pay the fighters purses.

• If the fight was at Wembley Hearn can cast iron guarantee a sell out however if it’s staged in the U.S.A. there’s no suitable venue which is as big and given Wilders lack of profile it’s a huge huge gamble on it selling well let alone selling out.

• The PPV numbers in the U.K. are a known quantity and would be expected to rise over those generated by the Klitschko fight. However, those sales are almost 100% to U.K. or European based fight fans and therefore the 22.30 GMT scheduling is massively important. Moving the fight to an American audience friendly 04.00 GMT schedule would have an unknown negative impact on those sales therefore making the PPV sales a big gamble.

The upshot of this is that if Wilder and his team want the fight in the USA and a 50/50 split then they can’t reasonably expect Matchroom to put the financial guarantees in place when the whole thing is such a huge gamble.

Loud mouth empty vessel Wilder and his opinionated team need to back up their big talk, go out and find the backers and take the gamble themselves thereby allowing them to make an offer which delivers all their demands.

They won’t because they can’t which suits them because they don’t actually want the fight they’re ducking it by making impossible demands as outlined above.

If wilder genuinely wanted the fight, he'd not be demanding 50/50 or no fight. He has zero negotiating power, asking for an even split is basically saying he doesn't want the fight. Priced himself out before even negotiating, typical wilder theatrics, this is why he has ZERO credible names on his resume, not one.

 

He's the WBC champion, so of course he has bargaining power. Unification fights should be reasonable pay for both fighters.

There is a common denominator when it comes with negotiating with the other parties in the top fights in regards to Fury Wilder and now Parker. And that is Eddie Hearn who keeps offering champions insulting purses which he knows they will refuse.

Wilder should fight Tyson Fury before Joshua but he's not the guts to do so.
