Yeah, that's what I was thinking reading some of these theories, it makes sense why Hearn and Whyte were ringside within seconds trying to put it on Povetkin.

It could get very messy and complicated.

Hearn and AJ don't need this Povetkin headache, also it might give Wilder more power in any negotiations, because I'm assuming the WBA will give Joshua an exemption for a unification fight with Wilder but not a voluntary so Wilder can tell Hearn to go away unless a deal they offer him is ridiculous, Wilder can then hope AJ vacates (Hearn has already said they may have to vacate) and maybe have his own unification with Povetkin, Wilder was going to fight him anyway.

There are all sorts of outcomes.

All this "just make the AJ Vs Wilder fight" might not be anywhere near as simple as we all think.

 

I said AJ’s next fight would be Povetkin the moment he and Price were added to the Cardiff show. I posted at the time that Price was a sacrificial lamb for a brutal KO in front of UK fans to set up the Joshua match. We all want the Wilder fight, but still I’d rather this than Miller

The facts are regardless of who is in front of you, the Klitschko era was widely regarded as the worst ever and it has deteriorated since with Champions such as Fury, Martin and Parker holding belts with incredibly Hughie 'The Skirt' Fury in a World Title fight!!!

Tony Dosh, with the exception of Klit, has faced pudding after pudding in zero risk fights in his career to date - that is fact.

The two cards and the two Tony Dosh fights at Cardiff have been absolute stinkers with Katie Taylor and David Price in the only 2 watchable fights in the combined 2 cards.

Not a fan of drug dealers, racists or false people media trained by Sky/Matchroom.

I expect the Heavyweight Division to be the most exciting in Boxing with great fighters in great fights.

Fook me we have the average Tony Doshua up against pudding after pudding with zero excitement except the fight against the old and faded Klit.

Well from what im reading it's been called by the WBA, so if there is no deal inside the next 30 days then it's purse bids for AJ/Povetkin.

 

Povetkin's likely a ridiculous easy fight for AJ.
And on paper he's extremely credible. He's a big name to boxing fans. And the Povetkin-Price makes him a known entity to 'the AJ massive'.
It would be crazy for Hearn not to get Poverkin next.

Povetkin's shot. Parker was a much tougher opponent. Parker's one of the best out there, believe it or not. Povetkin now, is declininhg fast.

 

Povetkin is Femi 's Sanders and will wipe the ****##g floor with him. Be warned.

 

Much harder fight IMO. Yes he is aging and declining just like Wlad was but both much harder fights than Parker. Parker isn’t a big puncher so you can take more risks against him (even though AJ never). Povetkin can bang and the danger is all the way through. He’s got much better credentials than Parker too. Good amateur career, fought at the very top professionally. Parker had been in with Takam and Ruiz and struggled!

IMO it’s an unnecessary risk that could balls up a potential massive unification fight. I’d much rather chase the unification money than risk it against Povetkin if I was fighter/promoter.

 

Povetkin won the gold medal in the super heavyweight division, he is used to fighting big guys. Povetkin has only lost one time and that was against Vlad, who almost knocked Joshua out at age 41 and would have if not for Vitali's bad advice to just take it easy on Joshua and win by decision when he had Joshua out on his feet and down on the canvas. If Steward had been in Vlad's corner he would have finished Joshua no doubt. Povetkin is much better than Parker, this should be a good fight, look at the fighters Povetkin has beaten, and we all know Wilder hid from him, Haymon got Wilder out of fighting Povetkin, if not, Povetkin would have knocked Wilder out!!!

Yes, his career credentials are much better, but Povetkin will be almost 39.
Parker turned 26 just a couple of months before facing AJ.
Povetkin at age when he's declining fast. Parker is a young and improving fighter.
This difference is hugely significant.

Povetkin was actually knocked flying across the ring and took a count against David Price last week !
AJ would probably destroy him, and/or be trained to implement the Wladimir Klitschko blueprint to jab and wrestle Povetkin to a clear win.

For some reason, Joseph Parker (the man you all said would be destroyed by AJ) will be continued to be underrated.
I give AJ a ton of credit for beating that young man.
Meanwhile, others will coninue to give AJ credit for taking on old men and has-beens.

 

I’ll hold my hands up and be honest. Yeah I expected AJ to KO Parker. But Parker showed me he’s a much better fighter than I had give him credit for.

Age doesn’t mean Parker is better than Povetkin. 41 year old wlad is/was better than Parker. Povetkin probably is too.

AJ isn’t taking on old me and has beens. The klitschko fight many were calling for, it was a sort of changing of the guard and he was even at 41 probably the hardest fight out there for him.

With Povetkin I can’t pick more than 4 better current heavyweights than him, can you? Povetkin as with Parker is in the current top 5 HW’s in the world. I know that it isn’t the strongest division but it’s hard to argue he’s not.

Joshua is a bad man trying to do good, give the guy a break nearly everyone gets some form of media training, especially black boys from the streets.

I like Joshua as a fighter but this is really ignorant. You realise a large part of Nazi philosophy was/is the superiority of certain races over others?
