Wilder fought Ortiz two weeks before Joshua fought Ruiz. And Wilder is fighting the #1 rated Fury in seven days. Joshua's next fight is four months FROM NOW.

Joshua knew he had to fight Pulev next, just like Wilder knew he was fighting Fury next.

This delay is a waste. Everyone knows it.

Joshua didn't need to sit on the shelf from December to June after that waltz with Ruiz.

    Pulev is a knockover opponent.

Pulev will be 39 when this fight goes off. He's not an awful fighter but he poses little risk because he has never been an offensive powerhouse. Tough, durable but hardly a finisher. As someone already said but bears repeating, this is a waste of Joshua's prime.

I expect a lot of holding and clinching from Pulev. Safety first from Joshua. I wouldn't be shocked if old man Pulev makes it to the final bell in a snoozer.

Thats an irrelvant point. It took Wilder 6 months to get back in the ring against somebody he already beat after he spent 2 fricking minutes fighting Breazzele.
Pulev? He would be top 3 win for Wilder

It's not irrelevant at all. It's totally on point.

Wilder waited last year for Fury to decide what he was going to do. Fury eventually decided to take yet another tuneup and signed to fight Wallin in September, so Wilder took on Ortiz.

Wilder knew Fury was next when he fought Ortiz, just like Joshua and Hearn and all of them knew Pulev was the mandatory and was up next.

Wilder and Fury are fighting in seven days. And Joshua is finally getting around to signing to fight Pulev ... and he won't even get in the ring with him until the freaking end of June.

It is a WASTE of a year.

If Joshua fought Pulev in March, he could fight the winner of Wilder-Fury four months from now.

Now, the winner of Wilder-Fury will be free in the summer and Joshua won't.

    It's dumb.

Joshua will definately fight twice this year just like Wilder does so it won't be a waste of a year.

Nothing has been confirmed with this Pulev fight anyway. It might be in June or it could be earlier.

And what do you suggest, to throw the IBF belt away and forget about her? Joshua is trying to unify, how dumb will be to just throw title away.
Everyone should fight their mandatory, if they earn their spot, unlike WBC jokes of mandatory. And this is because Wilder is champion.
Both Usyk and Pulev are very good fights for Joshua.
The rest of the good fights in the HW division are Fury and Wilder, and both of this jack***** are living in their own world. I don`t see a f**** reason why should Joshua and Hearn chase this 2 jokes. They are the ones who should go to Joshua feet and beg for the fight with him, because everyone who is unbiased and understand boxing know that Joshua is the man to beat. The belts, the glory and the money are in the Joshua fight.
There is a reason for what Fury go after Wilder, and not Joshua, tho he would earn probably 10 time more in a fight with Joshua.
And i don`t see Wilder handlers make such fight. Exactly the opposite they will make everything in their power to not make this fight.
Fury will most probably get KTFO in the rematch. That fat id***** is heavily overrated.

I know its become normal practice but no idea why this fight is so far away, top boxers fighting and defending once or twice a year isn't great for the sport imo

It was Pulev who decided against Joshua some years previously. Not Joshua who didn't take the fight.
With Povetkin, when was Joshua supposed to have fought him?
How did Joshua wait for him to age?
Joshua had 2 unification fights before the Povetkin fight so do explain

So 6 months without a fight.

Actually. He took off almost 9 ****ing months before his loss to AJ -- maybe that's why he got beaten to a pulp.

Seriously mate, as much as I loved WHL, this stadium is on a whole different level. Everything about it is class. We've got Beavertown brewery in there for crying out loud (I've had a ST in Park Lane for over 20yrs)!

I am looking forward to it. I am a big Anthony Joshua fan. His last fight brought a different style from him, it did look new and it didnt look completely natural to him but he will be working on it and addapting it in to his more natural aggressive style. Pulev is a taller guy too, Joshua prefers the taller fighters, hes never comfortable fighting these shorter guys.
