Joshua said that he will not let Hrgovic down: "I am a man of my word"

I dont understand this Hrgovic fight expectations. Why fans belive it should happend?
Filip is number 1 in IBF but Joshua is not belt Holder now.
And we all know that Joshua probably aim for Wilder fight. Its not accident that Saudi show them 2 together.

Where here is place for Hrgovic? For me its pretty simple that Wilder fight is better for Joshua than this one with Filip. Off course if Anthony and Wilder wins their fights.

 

Yeah, it seems set up for Joshua-Wilder if they both win and look good.

 

Maybe I underrated Wilder but for me today Hrgovic is more dangerous fight for Joshua. Or maybe I say it different.
The balance of profits and losses is way more atractive in Wilder fight than in this with Filip and for me risk of losing in thoose fight are quiet similar.

There is big possibility that Filip would be thougher opponent. He is near to his prime and Wilder is near to his end. Filip got puncher power too but off course not soo strong as Wilder but still can damage Anthony.
Wilder chin is probably now smth beetwen 3 and 4 (in scale 0 to 6) and Filip probably can be 6.
And Filip is better technical skills boxer.

 

At this stage I see this as nothing more than a coincidence that they are fighting on the same card.

After 6-8 years of broken promises there is still no guarantee Joshua will ever fight Wilder.

 

There is always no quarantee that any fight happend a special when both boxers got fight before with good opposition.
But end of the day its probably most cash and most expected fight in whole division after full unification so I don't believe they wouldn't consider organizing it after all these announcements.

 

Joshua's path is obviously to fight Hyrgovic for the vacant IBF title, hence him repeatedly setting the narrative of "I want to become a 3 time champion".

Hrgovic chasing the AJ fight is pathetic imo.

He should be focused on winner of Usyk v Fury.

 

It has been most cash and most expected fight for 6-8 years and it hasn't happened in all that time.

 

AJ does not want to fight Wilder, simple as. Although Hrgovic is a tough fight, this is not what boxing fans want. It’s time to make the big fight happen, it’s been too many years now.

Hurgovic comes in shape focused he beats AJ 8 times out of 10.

 

If I'm Joshua I wan't to fight Hrgovic. I win I get a belt and puts me in a better position to negotiate for a unification bout against the winner of Usyk Fury. Fighting Wilder is a huge risk and what does it get me when I beat him?

edit: been up 3 days straight with a toothache, not thinking straight. I'm assuming Hrgovic is gonna get the IBF after it's stripped from Fury / Usyk.

 

Yes but they got different situation, both have other option. What better fight Wilder have now when he got no belts and being close to 40 years old? Joshua maybe can aim in other direction but still its only Fury fight and that's pretty uncertain thing.
