It might of been a duff rumour doing the rounds but I think the logical thing for him is to fight Price later this year. It will be good progress by the end of the year and a nice big dopmestic clash for him don't you think?

Dillian White is the guy I want to see him against, but they don't match punching prospects in the hype game, I don't see Price happening either. Wilder showed how you get a belt, fight C class only and get a shot.

Maybe Joshua hides some glass in his mandible. Who knows. :think

Anyway since he's gonna fight Jason Gavern, his career could be padded with names like Dustin Nichols, Harold Sconiers, Nicolai Firtha etc. :yep

Joshua is only in his second year as a pro and yet you want to throw him in with top 20-30 level heavies some who can still operate on a world level? If Joshua had a long and extensive amateur career then yes maybe he could have been thrown in early against such seasoned opposition but it's way to early to throw him in that deep.

Joshua's progress so far has been handled well. He's faced his fare share of journeymen and will step up next month against a gate keeper level opponent in Johnson who should take him several rounds if not the full distance. Once AJ has passed this test then we can talk about him facing the Thompson's and Chisora's. We all saw what happened to Price, no point pushing him to early when he's young, lacks experience and is still maturing.

I think price could be a dangerous opponent for AJ, as price does have decent KO power and size. Chisora is a less of a threat though he's probably ranked higher, he's also a bigger name which makes financial sense. Probable PPV in nov / dec time if it happens.

I think Joshua's people are doing fine. He's only been a pro for 18 months now and he will have his 12th fight next month. That's almost 1 fight in every 45 days. You can't fight the likes of Thompson or Chisora at this rate. He's improving his ranking and experience through these frequent fights and slowly increasing the level of his opponents. Let's not forget he's still only 25 years old. Kevin Johnson will be a good test for him. I reckon he will get 2 more fights at this level this year and start fighting big names in 2016 and possibly get an eliminator/premandatory level fight eventually.

IMO he has to be British #1 first. Not going to be easy with Fury and Haye's comeback due.

Have people gone mental?! Joshua has 10 fights and for a heavyweight has fought some of the better journeymen. Will be fighting Johnson in his next fight, it took Fury many more fights to make that bout, so he is moving at good pace. Chisora would be a good test for his 15/16th fight but he really doesn't need a sink or swim type bout yet, let him develop

yes I hear what your saying, I didn't see him in his last fight and some fighters can decline really fast so who knows,

on achieving more than his skill I totally agree, he was a hard nut to crack because he could really take a punch, he wouldn't of beat Savon in the Am's if he couldn't.

Which active HW has a better resume after 10 fights than Joshua?

The people criticising his level of opposition are just haters that wanna see him lose

Antony Joshua is the perfect example of The modern athlete and the the old guys just stand compare anymore.

A pro for 14 months , he's racked up 10 bouts. In Mike Tyson's first 14 months as a pro he racked up 18 bouts.

Tommy Morrison fought 19 times in the year 1989 alone.

    The modern athlete >>>
