It seems to me that both Hearn and AJ are reluctant to take the fight. They probably figured that financially it makes sense to keep fighting the Molinas and Breazeales of the world with 95% chance of winning, rather than have a 50-50 with Wilder.

Hearn was saying that AJ would fight three times in 2018, but now he's saying that might not happen. Rob McCracken has also talked about fighting Wilder in 2019.

Wilder already said he would be willing to fight in the UK and accept 40%, which is a good starting point for negotiations. But if he really wants the fight, he should be prepared to accept much lower than that.

What has Wilders team offered AJ's though ? Iv not seen or heard of any offer, the only offer thats been talked about is coming from Matchroom. I wish they just made the offer completely public showing the whole thing then the pressure would be really on Wilder.

Wilder has talked in the media. His team have not put in any formal offer and that's the problem. Wilder doesn't actually want to sit around the table.

Wilder can have his fight with AJ if accepts Hearns terms. What he can't do is gatecrash AJ's night in Cardiff to try to bolster his negotiating position and try and get a better deal by implying that he's the only fight for AJ.

Should he beat Parker, AJ can make any one of Miller in the US, Povetkin in say Germany or UK, Whyte, Haye, Pulev etc. Over the next 8 months by which time Fury may be a viable option once again. That's an 18 month period where AJ banks another 100m and wilder tries to keep the networks interested in his travelling can crushing circus.

Wilder will squawk and punch paper dolls but all AJ and Hearn have to do is say that Wilder's expectations are as wayward as his footwork and noone outside Wilder's core fanbase will care.

Wilder needs to accept reality, take the biggest payday of his career and prove that he's not all hype by knocking AJ out. Do that in 2 fights and he can dictate terms all he wants. Till then he's all talk.

Let's wait for the result of the fight with Parker, and if AJ wins, then we'll see that Wilder will speak and offer. Because I have a suspicion that if AJ wins, Wilder will be silent.

Wilder taking 10 x his regular purse for a fight he believes he wins is a win win. He could then bank the larger split in a rematch. It makes no sense for Wilder to turn down that kind of offer.

    :)

If Wilder is that confident (in my opinion, he should be as he is a phenomenal puncher) then he should take the offer on the table and negotiate a rematch with better terms. If it works out in his favour in the first fight he gets to earn big money TWICE and have massive global exposure. It's win win win.

The only issue is that he seems to be surrounded by sharks who are, presumably, taking big slices out of his purse and are incapable of negotiating anything beyond a low 7 figure purse or good TV coverage. At this stage, Wilder is promoting himself but paying others their fees.

    https://www.badlefthook.com/2018/2/...make-a-serious-offer-if-he-wants-joshua-fight

Hearn on where he left off in the talks for a potential Joshua-Wilder fight:

“They said ‘oh we’ll take the Dillian Whyte fight if it means the Joshua fight.’ I said ‘ok, well let’s talk about that.’ Wilder made it very clear he wants 50/50 in the Joshua fight, which is not gonna happen. So once he said that we had the Parker fight there, we said ‘look, we’ll deal with the people who want the fight.’

“This guy Wilder, he talks about ‘I’m willing to fight anybody, I’ll fight them all’ — have you ever made an offer, or a serious offer, to Joseph Parker, another world champion? He says he wants all the belts, he wants the one champion. [Did he make an offer to] Joseph Parker, no. Have you ever made a serious offer to Wladimir Klitschko when he had the belt, or Tyson Fury? No, you haven’t. Have you ever made an offer to us, to fight Anthony Joshua? No.

“So how serious can you be and how keen to unify this division if haven’t even made any serious or considerable offers to the champions? Can’t be that serious. And we could make the Joshua fight [with a snap of the fingers] against Wilder, if he was just serious. Or if he was, you know, sensible. But we’re doing our thing, we’re going for a belt and then we’re one away, and hopefully — listen, Ortiz might be it. I don’t think [Ortiz wins] but that, at least, is the first time that Wilder’s been in a proper fight.”

This is the issue with Wilder. His not serious. He just talks a lot in the media claiming he wants to fight AJ but the reality is he prices himself out.

Like i said , what offers have Matchroom made? Where's the counter offer? Why have they given him a date to fight in the summer or at the end of the year?

That link is two moths old and Wilder has since said then that he is open to negotiation and will drop to 40%. Hearn is still hanging on to that '50/50 ' claim so he has an excuse to walk away.

there has been no formal offer as far as I am aware, there will have been talks behind the scenes I would assume and is normal practice to feel out what sorta of offer should be officially made.

Talks of offering Wilder 10x his biggest purse and when it would be held. Wilder has just said make me an offer without countering or putting anything forward himself. I aint holding that against him though I would imagine that Matchroom can put forward a far more lucrative offer than Wilders team can. Hearn has come out and said on a few occasions what they can offer as a ball park figure. Not a single reference of any offer has been hinted at from Wilder and lets be honest if his team did have anything to offer then he wouldnt be slow in letting the world know.

I aint a particular fan of either and I think the fight could go either way. But we can only go on the info we have been given and so far that is what I have written above.

AJ freezing himself out of his biggest possible fight in Vegas because he’s scared of Wilder’s unpredictability and power.

Except offers aren't coming from Matchroom like you said they were. Its only negative statements from Hearn without ever getting down to brass tax and offering him a deal or a fight date. I know exactly how Hearn sounds when he wants another fighter and this isn't it. If Hearn really wanted Wilder next , he'd be waving contracts around live on Sky Sports News.

Hearn only yesterday was talking about rematching Whyte if they get past Parker. Its clear as day that they are waiting it out as long as they can.
I support Joshua more than Wilder but this is exactly what it is.

An offer must have been made if Wilder has come out and said that he would accept 40%. Wilder has also confirmed that offers were made in regards to the Whyte fight then onto AJ. He has confirmed this himself, he might not be happy with what is offered but hasnt come up with any alternative on his part. I dont think Wilders team have failed to put in an offer because Wilder doesnt want the fight, they havent done so cos they cannot get anywhere near the figures that Hearn could offer them. Otherwise they would have.... surely you cannot deny this?
