Why do you put words into my mouth? You've done this strawman thing before and I had to go through a tedious trawl through my posts to set you right. I shouldn't have to do it again? Please stop misrepresenting what I say.

    Thanks :)

The real deal-breaker with regards to the fight happening in the US may well be the DAZN deal (fookin stupid name, btw). I'm not sure, immediately after Hearn has announced his alleged $1bn agreement, he'd want his A++ fighter boxing for a US network, which is a different prospect than selling a UK Sky-backed PPV to the US. It would kinda undermine what he's hoping to achieve to break the stranglehold the US networks have on state side boxing.

People like to blame AJ for this - and yeah maybe he doesn't want to travel - but I'm not sure his input is decisive.

Wilder already is the next default opponent.

Why do you think most sports network are asking Joshua the question about what's going on with Wilder?

Sky in the build up before and after the Parker fight, were talking mostly about Wilder. So of course he already is high on the list of next possible opponents.

This myth that the uk boxing fans don't know who wilder ,is exactly that.... a myth. Maybe those z list celebrities who attend the fights for exposure to be seen at these events don't know who he is, but unless you've been living under a rock the past decade even casuals know of his name, even from the time he fought Audley Harrison.

He didn't want Wilder in the same ring simply due to fear of the unknown. AJ cannot maintain his fabricated nice guy stay humble persona when confronted with unpredictable characters who have not been briefed on what they can't say.

Hearn isn't going to allow it because he knows the real scumbag drug dealing AJ of old comes out.

It doesn't matter anyway, they've lost control in the negoiations through AJ's arrogance in assuming that pulling out an astronomical figure out of his behind, that wilder couldn't possibly match.

They've shot themselves in the foot and them insisting that the fight now needs to happen in the uk, when they are not even putting forth the superior offer, all because in AJ's words he wants to feel ''secure'' i.e protected, it all makes them look like bigger ducks than the donald duck family.

I am not talking about US TV Rights, I'm talking about Matchroom which was your original Statement. If you are a Matchroom Fighter you are Automatically signed to Sky Sports in the UK. US TV Rights are completely seperate and that is negotiated by Hearn.

Hearn's already said that although DAZN want to work with Joshua the very biggest PPV fights would be outside the budget for his 12 and 4 card program. He probably has to tread carefully to be honest because he can't steer AJ into the DAZN camp unless he can make a case for it being worth his while.

Joshua's claim he 'doesn't want the 50 million pay day to take place in the US because he feels he owes it to the UK fans for the fight to take place in the UK' sure provided some laughs :D

Agreed, it's a line to trot out during negotiations which probably translates to 'that last email didn't work for me, give me a better offer'. Given sufficient incentive he'll fight in the US.

Sufficient incentive like the 'you pay us $50 million?'

Even Hearn now concedes the $50 million is real.

That sounds like sufficient incentive to me. Course I'd want to know a little more before I agreed to it, I'm not an idiot after all...

yeah but my original point was about him not having an agreement with sky, and you showed me he is in fact, sponsored by Sky sports box office. but then you said his fights can be showed in the "UK only" and I said that wasn't true, as his fights are shown in America

It's the timing.... his main attraction fighting on a US network straight after the DAZN deal has been signed sends out the wrong kind of message, especially as he's trying to sign up US fighters to that platform and selling it to them as the future of US boxing. I think his US priority is getting fighters signed, something he's failed to do so far, albeit it's only been a couple of weeks. 'So how come your boy AJ is fighting on Showtime, then if DANZ is the future?' would be a reasonable question for a potential signing to ask Hearn. I think it's a factor.
