This. Outside of the UK Joshua is far from being a big name. Also, it's hilarious that Joshua thinks he can dictate what Wilder can say or do outside the ring. Wilder is the only opponent I could see Joshua drawing money with in the states.

I know it was against Wlad, that’s why they did such numbers !! I’m not saying Joshua does not have potencial to become a star in US, but as of now in US, Wilder is better known than him. Joshua is a glass jawed juicehead and I believe wilder has a very good chance to KO him, that would make him a star, far bigger than what joshua is now.

If they only did those numbers because of Wlad, why didn't Wlad hold the record?

    @vnyc

Why is Wilder earning less than Joshua?

No rest of the World, no one know Wilder out side USA which is the reason why he gets little paydays where AJ get huge ones..

It just the laws of population.. Small country like USA doesn't generate much compared to Europe and Asia..

This. Wlad-Joshua did strong numbers in the U.K., but outside of the U.K. Wlad-Fury did far better numbers. Joshua's still young, so anything is possible, but for now he just isn't a big deal outside the U.K.

    Not true.

Globally Joshua v Wlad did more numbers.

Wilder is not a star in US, he’s better known than Joshua , but not a star, also he’s not a star anywhere outside of US, while AJ is a huge star in UK, that’s why Joshua makes more .
Wlad wasn’t a star in US, but was a big star in Germany and that is the reason he made a lot of money there.

He waited for AJ to schedule the next fight so that later he could bravely "demand" fight with him

Because most people are wise enough to realize he's been fighting the very softest opposition he can get aways with (old and physically unfit like Ortiz, Harrison and Stiverne, chinny journeymen like Szpilka, shot fighters like Lyakhovich).

Wilder even avoided Kevin Johnson a few years ago, because his handlers were not sure he could get a KO. And more recently, his management was afraid to put him in with Breazeale and old but physically fit Amir Mansour.

Joshua takes on ATGs like Klitschko, tough durable guys like Takam, and prime titleholders like Parker.

Vlad has had, at least 65,000 at ringside for a fight I remember. Joshua/Parker will draw a large number of fans also, more than Wilder can ever dream about. Joshua will knock Wilder out if they fight, but will Haymon allow Wilder near Joshua?

Wlad made good money in Germany but not great money, he was probably just as big in Germany as Joshua is here in the UK now or close to it. Wlad only made 6-7 mill per fight with his deal with RTL as PPV sports really isn't a thing in Germany so Wlad always needed a big name opponent like Haye or Povetkin to make really big money by taking a share of the PPV market in his opponents market.

Joshua is clearly a bigger worldwide star than Wilder, even in Asia I've seen billboards with his face on and been in several sporting goods stores in Asia where I've seen images of him due to his numerous endorsement deals.

As for the US, Joshua is likely just as well known as Wilder. Why because Wilder can't stop mentioning Joshua at every opportunity, he mentioned Joshua more than Ortiz in the lead up to the Ortiz fight. If you know Wilder, you as damn well sure know who Joshua is. Doesn't mean Joshua is a bigger draw in the US though he needs to prove that, being well known isn't the same as being a draw, there's a big difference between being aware of someone and being willing to pay to watch them fight.

Joshua is more well known in America than Wilder. Joshua is known as the heavyweight champion, not Wilder. Everyone knows Wilder has fought winos from they alley, the only legit fighter he has fought was an old Ortiz and Ortiz would have knocked him out if not for Haymon's referee giving Wilder extra time to recover!
