In a chat with MMA Hour, Alalshikh stated that plans are underway to ensure that the fight comes to light.

‘We have Joshua’s fight in September it all depends on the result of the Hrgovic fight [with Dubois],’ His Excellency said on the MMA Hour.

‘Because now we have locked Wilder to Jared Anderson in the card in Los Angeles.’

Joshua has travelled to Riyadh and is set to be ringside to watch the first undisputed heavyweight fight in 25 years.

So much for fighting "whoever looked the most impressive" out of the up-and-coming matches. Still, no reflection on AJ really - he's not alone in who he takes his marching orders from now.

And it will be a good fight either way tbf.

I had hoped he would of fought Hrgovic instead of Ngannou and then again this summer as they said he'd fight again this summer. Joshua really needs to step up again whoever he fights. He hasn't fought a top fighter since Usyk and that was nearly 2 years ago, I'm getting a bit fed up with him continually facing soft touches.

I became a fan of Joshua's because he would fight anyone, but it's now Wilder who seems to be the one taking more risks which is ironic.

So... they are cashing Wilder's name out against Anderson, I see.
    SMH
If the Anderson v Wilder is on Aug 3rd. That is two months to recouperate and prepare after Zhang on June 1st. Wilder is 38...

Make no mistake, AJ ducked Wilder again.
    This is too funny.
How many times does he mention Wilder as a possibility but never go through with it?
There is no way if AJ asked for that fight they would have made the Anderson matchup with Wilder, which nobody cares about.
Of course they won't admit AJ doesn't want it because they're schemers like Hearn and it's a bad look for the brand.
    But get real.
Three Arab-money events AJ doesn't fight Wilder (who verbally asked for the fight) and people actually believe he wants Wilder?
I think the prophecies are coming true, Wilder has to turn 40 before he gets the fight!

Doubt he wants to do Wilder any favours by gifting him the bag.

When Wilder lost the Parker with Joshua signed to fight, that was a line drawn under it all for me.

Wilder just isn't relevant any more at the top table.
Doubt we ever see the fight, actually. And tbh, I've passed the point of caring
