Have a reliable source in matchroom who has told me they are having discussions with briggs for AJ's next PPV

I know hardcore fans gonna hate but

    1. it can sell
    2. briggs could test him
    3. world level fights too early, good step up
    4. entertaining build up and promos

Maybe Briggs can stalk Joshua in the buildup to this mooted fight, while bellowing "Let's go, champ!", and saying every sentence three or four times.

It would be a circus with Briggs thats for sure. Also Briggs has a great set of whiskers on him, so at least it would go into the later rounds.

I think this is great matchmaking by Joshua's team. Its definitely one I would like to see. The Whyte fight was not something I was interested in, but I would be interested in this one...because Briggs is a bit of a maniac.

If this is true do you think match room are trying to break into America with Joshua?

Briggs would be a walking punch bag for AJ.

As has already been mentioned, Briggs does have a solid beard so AJ would get some rounds under his belt... but would he really learn much, I doubt it.

Suppose it does give him 'some' exposure into the American market.

briggs lands one solid shot at this moment in time its over

A J aint all that he still as loads to learn

this should happen within six months if a j and team are so confident as I know briggs would love to get a j ranking for a few paydays

Briggs has had his day, past it. You're right AJ does have a lot to learn, but he's a fighter on the up that would be fighting a man on his way out.

people seriously writing off briggs against a novice

last thing you lose is power briggs as it , it will take aj years to learn the in ring and championship round experience

I will say it again as of now I would favour briggs
he hurts aj he will not let him off the hook:bart

Briggs is done, decent strong powerful fighter in his day but those days are over.

As a comparison, look at what AJ did to Zumbano Love.. ruined him inside 2 rounds. Briggs went the full 12 with him.

He was finished before the Vitali fight, which he got an absolute pasting in (although hats off to him, he showed a serious chin and bottle in that fight).

I'm not one of these who are making AJ out to be the second coming of Christ, but I do rate him highly and he'd use Briggs as a heavybag.

Not a good fight at all. Why face a big strong fast and powerful opponent who is old and hasn't done anything relevant in recent times!

I'd expect youth to win out but someone like a Chisora is a much easier sell and actually gets you towards your desired goal. Like Briggs, he'll sell the fight and give you rounds.
