Confident aggressive Joshua would’ve stopped Bruno. This new shellshocked fragile version of Joshua who’s terrified to get hit might get put down by Bruno’s jab.
Like i say, Bruno fought good hard men, he didn't have it easy and it helped him to achieve his goal of becoming heavyweight champion of the world, when it meant something... And hard fights he gave every single one of them before he got there... You can not teach old school, it has to be understood.
I could see Bruno hurting AJ with a solid jab, if he fought like he did against Lewis, with that kind of determination I'd favour Bruno, I don't think AJ would have stood up to that and been able to change it up, and also become vicious the way Lewis needed to.
Also Bruno only lost to world champions or future world champions.. Bone Crusher Smith, who went the distance with a prime Tyson (in a unification fight) Tim Witherspoon, WBA champion and a very underrated world champion. Mike Tyson x 2, one was a prime Tyson, went 5 rounds and hurt Tyson early, the second time Bruno was risking his eyesight and was never really committed. And Lennox Lewis, it went 7 rounds and was giving a Lewis all he could handle, Lewis is some people best Heavyweight of all time. Bruno won the green belt, the WBC title, nobody can take that away from him and he always gave it a go, he never quit and always went out on his shield.. a proper warrior.
Bruno’s slower, shorter, and less skilled. Both guys have shaky chins but AJ would definitely land first. Whoever says it’s 50/50 is just being bias towards Bruno
Im not trying to dismiss Bruno here, i feel like for a long time he was given very little respect which was not fair, however he almost always found a way to lose in all of his big fights save McCall. And yes, I don't see Joshua doing very well against Tyson either. Edit: also to be fair and have it more fresh in my mind, I will go back and rewatch Lewis-Bruno and see if I should re-evaluate my opinion.
Big Frank beats AJ with a bit to spare imo seriously all those saying AJ couldn't have been watching Big Francis in his pomp back in the day , AJ would have struggled with Gary Mason ( RIP Gary ) imo , I like Anthony but come on lads keep it real Frank as it pains me to say was a tad better than Gary and Gary was a tad over AJ .
Bruno by brutal ko . His jab would bust AJ up and keep him at range before Frank ends things. AJ s chin is not good enough to cope with Frank s power. Few fighters could Josh isn't one of them.
Mate AJ just got beat up by a 200lbs guy trapped in a 225 lbs body, I read some of these posts and I can't believe what I'm reading sometimes , it's either lack of boxing knowledge or hero worship but come on man some ain't got a clue, some seem to think we were a weaker species way back .
Bruno is a good fighter and fought in an underrated era in the 80s/90s The talent at heavyweight was much better. Bruno was stiff, but he had a good strong jab and obviously punch power in general. He wasn't afraid to give it a go and mix it up either. However, he was a bit of a deer in thr headlights when hurt Aj pre Ruiz might be favourite for me, when he still had some confidence and let his hands go. Both guys were excellent finishers whe they had an opponent hurt The recent version of Aj would get flattened imo vs Bruno. Gun to head I would probably favour Bruno overrall
I was standing there in the arms park that night in the rain and whole heartedly agree .Calzaghe dipped his toe in the puddles that night to
