How obsessed and desperate? Lol So Joshua’s last 3 fights were against Wladimir Klitschko - The Nō1 HW of the last 10 years Carlos Takam - Substitute Mandatory defence Joseph Parker - Heavyweight World Title Unification 3 Wins Combined ticket sales of over 250,000 (quarter of a million) Combined U.K. PPV Numbers of 4,000,000 (4 Million) Estimated combined earnings of £45,000,000 (£45 Million) Joshua Holds 3 of the 4 major Heavyweight World Championship belts Quite a lot to celebrate if you’re a Joshua follower, don’t you think? In contrast, do you care to share the other HW Champions last 3 opponents and numbers?
I don't watch boxing to care about numbers. Get that through your thick ****ing skull. And those belts he's holding hostage are not his. Takam and Parker fights were garbage and that's what matters. It doesn't matter how many football hooligans and culkold fanboys pay to watch a mismatch. Chisora vs Takam was more entertaining and will be remembered more fondly likewise the Parker vs Whyte. How any man get excited about how much another man earns is something only you culks could look in the mirror and justify to yourselves.
Do you think those numbers are generated by people who are bored by what they’re seeing or dissatisfied with the value for money they receive. These are Big events, fantastic experiences for those attending and I haven’t heard any stories about people wanting their money back. The high levels & consistency of the numbers are significant because they illustrates the quality of what the fans are receiving, this in turn allows the confidence to underwrite the next major sporting event. To suggest that Joshua doesn’t own the belts is just obtuse & absurd! Ali V Frazier in Manila was a better fight so was Bowe v Holyfield 1 & 2 and a host of others, do you have a point or are you just throwing a tantrum and lashing out? A note of advice: Once you start swearing and name calling, apart from looking immature, it illustrates that you’ve lost the argument!
I've heard from many who are dissatisfied with those fights. You state that the numbers illustrate the quality of fights that the fans are recieving. Which is flat out ridiculous statement. Was AJ vs Charles Martin a quality fight? That did great numbers too. Tell me what was quality about Parker vs AJ fight? You must believe it was a quality fight. When we know it was a tedious fight between two men who were afraid of getting hurt. Likewise the Takam fight left a source taste in the viewers eyes due to the lacklustre performance of the two fighters which lead to boos after the fight.
1st thing ive read of Stephanies that I can actually believe. Also a tribute to Steph as she also likes to take small parts of different things and try to sell it as something else.
American's don't realise how big AJ is in the UK He is not just a big boxing star, he is not just a big sports star, he is a big celebrity full stop EVERYONE knows who he is even if they are not into boxing Really like Michael Jordan in his heyday or Lebron James now in the US Tyson Fury is nowhere near as big a name as AJ in the UK
I don’t beleive you, I don’t beleive that you have had anyone with any credibility who’s attended the last 3 Joshua fights and said they’re dissatisfied with the event! Don’t confuse that with whether the fights been great, average or poor because that’s a completely different thing and no one can guarantee a great fight no matter who they are or what their boxing knowledge is. You quote me then base your whole angry rant on a misquote of what I wrote, go back and read it again! I never wrote the word “fight”, these are major sporting events that people love to attend and yes they enjoy the fights as well because they’re invested in the outcome and the fights were value for money! Why have you brought the Charles Martin fight into it? How can Joshua be blamed for Martins poor performance anyway. That said, were punters, spectators and PPV customers unhappy with the Tyson v Spinks fight? Maybe they had some criticism of Spinks but how could they blame Tyson or for that matter Don King, that would be perverse! Care to answer my question about the other HW Champions last 3 fights/events and his numbers. Let’s not forget that this thread is mainly about PPV Numbers.
I wouldn't say something unless it wasn't true. I know a few friends who attended these ''events'' and they were not happy with the fight. By all means they had to make an event of it themselves, by getting pissed up the wall, but the whole point of the event is to be entertained by the bouts. This is the entertainment business after all and if that's not what you're receiving then you may as a go to a nightclub to have that similar experience where you have to entertain yourself by getting drunk like a sailor. When I ask if you think the fight was ppv worthy you then say you are only talking about the event. Now in your last sentence you want to pretend that they got value for money for the fight itself. Which one is it? Who's blaming AJ for any of this? He's the not one charging the ppv, that will be his promotional team.I ask you about Charles martin because that fight did great numbers and according to your philosophy, great numbers equates the quality of what the fans are receiving. What they recieved for departing with their hard earned money was witnessing a former brick layer Charles Martin getting knocked out within 2 rounds. I'm not here to argue that any other heavyweight is doing better numbers and I don't have a poster displayed on my apartment wall with bullet points of all the ppv's they've sold and how many millions they received from each bout . I'm simply showing that numbers mean absolutely nothing in regards to what happens in the ring. The only people who should be concerned about ticket sales, ppv and purses are the fighters themselves and the promoters. As fans it's our duty to be concerned with the quality of fights we're seeing and expect that these men do their jobs in fighting the best possible opposition. Let's not forget I asked a standard question which triggered a host of you to swarm into action to defend AJ's as if I was attacking him
thats an absolutely insane amount of PPVs!!!! considering the UK population is 65 million, and America's is almost 6x bigger. crazy!!!!
The hate is real. Constantly hating on AJ yet you want to talk up Fury. Just how many memorable fights has Fury been in? His best win was an absolute shocker of a fight. If you want to find someone who repeatedly is in bad fights then look no further than Tyson Fury. Just accept AJ is box office and no matter how many times you try to discredit it he will remain a box office attraction.
No one is denying AJ is box office. That isn't the argument which you seem to be missing The point is these are not box office worthy events How can you justify paying to what him fight a 37 year old man plucked out from underneath the cherry tree blossom. A man that didn't even have a camp. A mismatch of the highest order and later Takam was taken clean out in a more spectacular fight against Derek on his last legs Chisora. Fury vs Klitschko was no better than Parker vs Jenner. The difference is I'm not going to pretend that it was a great fight just because I like the fighter and certainly not going to justify the fight by mentioning how many ppvs it sold and how much money each fighter earned. We may as well begin speculating on which fighter has the biggest fleet of cars and who has the most properties. None of it has anything to do with fighting which is what this sport is about.
