Risky strategy if true. Fury's stock has increased after the Wilder fight. Could be straight back down to earth if his next fight is some five punches a round tapfest against someone like Charr.

Hed rather tyson face 1 man for all the belts, instaed of tyson facing 2 men for all the belts.
Makes sense to be fair to Ben.
His stock will drop tho if he takes his preferred route. He won't take as much to the bargaining table with 1 fight against who ever has all the belts.
I think hed be better going for the rematch vs wilder. He has a better chance there Imo. He's then in a strong negotiating position vs A.j.
A.J is a tougher fight than wilder for fury imo. But saying that I think wilder beats AJ, unless AJ has improved by then of course. And AJ is improving all the time.

 

I’d like to see Fury v Wilder next but AJ vs Wilder is also a mouthwatering fight. As a fan, I want to see them all fight each other. If this is how it pans out, hopefully Fury will fight someone like a Pulev, Whyte, Povetkin etc He’d absolutely school them.

other than Joshua or Wilder its truly hard to see a meaningful fight for Fury. It's bizarre but thats where he is.

 

Fury doesn't want the rematch which is perfectly understandable as he knows what will happen to him and it won't be nice at all.

He doesn't want to put his wife through that torture.

I said after the fight that Fury doesn't want the rematch and who can blame him really.

 

Best move for fury. He's done his stepping up for now. Last thing you want to do is have another hard fight with wilder then go in against Joshua straight after it....which would probably happen. They still need to get him back fighting regularly again. That comebacks been almost a miracle....but there's still more to come from fury. Can get sharper and fitter again. Then comeback and try and takeover after Joshua and wilders had a hard fight against each other.

 

Where are you getting it from that he doesn't want the rematch? He won it the first time round. He will learn from the Knock downs and beat Wilder more convincingly next time. Tyson Fury is a fighting man. He not scared of Wilder (a grown man that still wears pigtails lmao)

I,d go the easy route for him. As long as he can still get motivated for them anyway. Not too far off the comeback route before wilder but a good step up. Keep him fighting regularly but not top top level opponents. I,d stay away from Ortiz, povetkin, wilder, Joshua, whyte atm. Guys like that for the next two. An easyish one next soon. Then a guy just off that level above. Maybe pulev at a push. He could well beat them all. You don't want to stick him in too hard too often tho.

For a guy that had lost the love of boxing. You want to keep getting him fitter, sharper and most importantly enjoying it again. Sometimes that involves taking on a guy that's maybe below your level. The champions always get tired of fighting guys coming to take there belt off them every fight. One after the other. Joshua looks to me like he's beginning to feel the strain slightly.

You don't want fury to go in against say wilder, then wilder rematch, then Joshua. Its a hard schedule. The next half of the year for me would be easyish. Ticking over getting fitter/sharper looking for another tilt at the top guys. Joshua will be harder than wilder. Probably cause of the weight. For me he's needing to get fitter/sharper for it still. Can box his head off. But Joshua will tire him more with the weight and get to him later atm. Needs to keep getting that fitness/sharpness up. He's got the tools to beat Joshua for me tho.
