What yous reckon? Given how gun shy AJ has looked recently, he's a sitting duck for Zhang, who is clearly an excellent heavyweight. He's proved it now in the professional game against two world class heavyweights. Hearn is using Zhang to have a dig at Joyce because Joyce had a lot to say about AJ before he fought Zhang but he's ignoring the fact that Zhang is a very good fighter and AJ does not look good going by his last performance. We won't see this fight but I'd like to hear people's opinions on it. AJ v Zhang - I think it would be a hugely entertaining fight and it's a 50/50 for me. I think AJ would have to summon his old killer instinct or else he gets stopped.
I dunno. Joshua's whole selling point was that he was the olympic champion. Well the Zhang fight was the only one he won comfortably. He went life and death with the other 3 and each could have gone the other way.
Personally i make AJ favourite, not as much as i would of 5 years ago though. Too many people act like his Franklin fight was close or he was troubled at all. However i agree on point of gun shyness. I feel they are trying to make him a better boxer and at 32/33 there really isnt the time to do it to whats needed. He should go with a coach that will sharpen what he is good at which is power and combinations, AJ cant learn a new style at this point or significant improve his defence. His best defence is by offence and getting his opponent on back foot. He will more than likely be beaten by top heavyweights in division but will look beter again B level and if he gets back to his best imo beats wilder.
These boxers and promoters love to tell us which fights they'd win while sitting on their asses and not ever proving it.
Joshua has done 24 rounds with the best southpaw around, so at least he would be a little better prepared than Joyce and his clueless team
Joshua has a better cardio, even though both fighters don't have very good one and better footwork. Both are the same size, AJ is more cautious, Zhang is more psycho in the ring... I range from 50:50 to 60:40 for AJ. Will be a nice fight.
Wouldn't be easy at all. Let's be honest here AJ hasn't had a good win in 4 and a half years and that was against a past it Povetkin.
