either way, it’s a great next step ‘comeback’ fight for AJ, winnable but with a real element of danger that should motivate him and excite the fans. he’ll get credit if he wins unlike the Franklin fight which did nothing for nobody. Whyte should go and fight Chisora on an aircraft carrier for eternity with nobody watching or broadcasting. Joe Parker as the guest ref
PAPA Zhang HATES racists. If this fight gets made it’s getting made in China, the ZONE would love a slice of that sweet Renminbi pie to pay off all those APP debts. Audience of ten million easy. Welcome to Zhang’s house, matchroom don’t get away with inserting their bllsht “no mention” clauses into PAPA Zhang’s pre fight contractuals meaning the twenty stone southpaw PAPA from the ORIENT would have a field day exposing Joshua’s habitual racism to the world. His translator mate will absolutely RELISH slowly and deliberately calling AJ a racist in English as the big leftie UNIT sits back grinning. Add Zhang to the list of top heavies Joshua will DUCK.
TBF there is no shame in losing to Zhang; he is a tricky southpaw with quick hands, good use of angles and vicious power. AJ would be a slight favourite if they fought as would likely try to box and stay safe in the early rounds, before pouring it on Zhang later as he gasses. However Zhang would have a very good chance of catching and stopping him in the earlier rounds.
Zhang was 39 (about to turn 40 though) with severe stamina issues. He is becoming very overrated now. Yes he has decent skills and a powerful left hand but any fighter with a decent defence and work rate would beat him. Hrgovic wasn’t 100% due to personal issues and would have likely won much clearer in a rematch.
Maybe, but I think there is a difference between how good a fighter is and how dangerous a fighter is. Zhang is liable to lose to someone perceived worse than him but who can exploit his obvious stamina issues. On the flipside his power and awkwardness give him a good chance upsetting fighters perceived better than him.
