Joshua is going to kill him.... I'm not convinced Cornish is a top 15 HW in all of Briton.

You're wasting your breath trying to talk sense to that fanboy, he thinks the sun shines out of Hearns and Joshua's backside.

Even if AJ fought a cancer patient who was just coming straight out from chemo and weighed 70lbs, Beachie would tell you that it was a good match up

I'd be happy with this fight on the Manchester card with a bigger fight in September but with the way Hearn built up Joshua's opponent in September, Cornish really isn't good enough if he is the opponent.

After all the hype and speculation, eddie makes a fight with Gary Cornish ffs. If you asked 100 boxing experts who they thought AJ would be fighting, cornball wouldn't even be in the equation.

This has to be a wind up surely?

It's not a wind up, AJ has been talking him up as a tough fight to the casuals

Joshua "Gary Cornish is a very good opponent. We went up to Scotland once before and the atmosphere was unbelievable. He's a big strong guy and is someone I'd like to box.''

Not one casual fan will have heard of Cornish. Would be a monumentally bad fight to make.

    They don't have to.

All Hearns has to do is show a few highlight reels of Cornish knocking out a few cans and have AJ talk him up as a tough opponent and the casuals will come out in droves to line up to pay ppv to see it.

it will be fun seeing them try to get any kos of a fighter that is either in shape or looks anything more than a blown up light heavy/cruiser!! it would be interesting to see if hes ever actually fought anyone remotely near his own height!!

exactly, even if people hadn't heard of Johnson, once they hear he's been 12 rounds with klitscho etc they'll assume he's half decent.

They should put Cornish on the manc card against someone semi decent and get him some exposure.

That would've been a good idea.

Anthony Joshua in his 14th fight is facing somebody who is 21-0. Deontay Wilder in his 14th fight was facing an opponent called Dan Sheehan who is 5'10 and had a record of 11 wins and 38 losses.

People need to relax. Joshua will face a much tougher opponent like Dillian Whyte by the end of the year.

Cornish is not going to win of course but we're hyping Joshroid too much, fat Gavern went four rounds before Johnson.

I find it funny that Maloney has thrown Cornish in after only having one fight under his promotion, so much for:

Eddie said FJ/Dillian is on for December.

Easy to sell, England vs Scotland. That's the only reason this fight is being considered.
