There's a difference between rooting for the hometown guy, and letting it blind your judgement. You did say that btw... I remember clearly.

This basically says it all. Wlad way too much for Joshua right now, probably until Wlad retires, certainly for a few years. Yes sparring is different from a real fight, but I think the differences all benefit Wlad.

Joshua knows that he would have no chance against Vlad, Vlad would knock him out. Joshua is way too inexperienced to compete with Vlad. I can't believe that anyone would be ignorant enough to believe that Joshua could beat Vlad.

    I'm of the same opinion.
This isn't a situation like Vitali or George foreman, whereas, Wlad hasn't removed himself from the game for 4+ yrs.

Like chef said....60+ fights and a career that began in excess of 17 yrs ago.
Wlad is indeed a consummate professional, staying in great shape year round and maintaining a level of activity that is quite extraordinary for a fighter of his age, especially taking into account the LOC he's fighting.
Yeah, ppl can run off at the mouth about the Mormecks and the Leapeis, but A level or not every fighter he's fought since his early progression days(where Joshua is now) has been a solid world level fringe contender or better.

He's lost a couple wars vs Brewster and Ross the Boss, and been blitzkrieged by Sanders, but he's bounced back and become the most dominating HW in modern (post 40s) history.

Seeing him continue so far past his prime, and losing would hurt. I've watched him since Atlanta, and hyped him on every message board that I've been on, even been banned for arguing that the hate for him is mostly due to his nationality(2001).

I want to see him fight on as long as he can STILL pull the trigger, but if he loses a step, I'd rather see him walk away knowing that he's accomplished 1000X what his post Purrity critics claimed he would.

He's got 13 fights under his belt.

Nothing wrong with being moved a little slowly on the way up.

Who would be the 2015 Purrity????

    Maybe Tank Williams, Berman Stiverne???

    Good tests vs gatekeepers????
