Joshua has the experience and power to not just beat Makhmudov but in all likelihood stop him early,on the other hand however Joshua could not take those shots that Allen was eating all fight. Joshua’s ring walk would be interesting .

Lord Makhmudov is awful! Fortunately for him they were actually able to find a fighter he could outbox! I never knew such a fighter even existed! How could Allen keep running into the same novice level amateur 1- 2 combo from Makh all night long!...That fight was a D -- level exhibition of boxing skills. I saw better skills in the old toughman contests back in the 1980's

    Mak by upset win

Joshua basically has confidence issues at this moment in time

Mak has exorcised some demons; being in the spot light, big event fight, fighting abroad, biased hometown referee, body punching pressure fighter type of opponent. All good confidence builders for Mak.

Joshua meanwhile has run off to Nigeria and stayed "humble" by mixing with the locals.

Timing is everything. Momentum is everything. Motivation is everything.

Joshua is probably motivated only for a giant UK fight intended as a cash out against Tyson Fury. Someone like Makmudov has a chance to become a giant name and would be more motivated than Joshua.

Plus, Makmudov has been beaten in the a amateurs that have beaten Joshua so he has that little confidence booster on his side too.

I'm telling you guys, it's more competitive than you thing. Mak is big, powerful and hungry for success

Unless AJ is absolutely shot to pieces he should take this rather easily.

Makhmudov is slow and one dimensional. Seek with the left and destroy with the right. That's all he does.

A decent, pre-crisis version of Joshua would take him out and probably early. But the tentative, gun-shy version of Joshua we have come to know might just get caught by this guy and if he does, that's curtains. End of career.

Hearn will be looking for somebody Joshua can take care of with a minimum of fuss early next year and then follow it with the 'roll the dice fight' as he puts it, which equates to the cash out fight.

For the comeback fight, Hearn will be looking for the worst opponent they think they can get away with because if they choose the wrong guy and it all turns to sh1t, the cash out fight goes out the window.

Hearn won’t put him in with a puncher.

Makhmudov is not the best fighter, but unlike Joshua, who is a personality collapse, he has a heart, I despise Joshua, so I have to support Makhmudov and say that he will win by knockout...
