Today's current POUND FOR POUND KING Anthony Joshua in his current prime would make mince meat of any current or past heavyweight boxer his height his build his strength would be all to much for the likes of Marciano, Liston , Dempsey , even Jack Johnson wouldn't be a match I don't see one single fighter that can possibly beat or even pose any threat to Anthony joshua.

I can’t see any of these guys making it past round 3 against AJ tbh

Joshua despite being a champion is still green and a developing fighter, so it’s too soon to be comparing him to guys who conquered the heavyweight division during their heyday.

Joshua’s future potential is unlimited, but for now Joshua is still too inexperienced and makes too many mistakes for me to see him beating Johnson, Louis, or Marciano.

Can’t really compare eras, but I honestly wouldn’t pick anyone from the 50s and below to beat the top heavyweights of today, except wilder

Maybe we can find a 6”2 obese guy who can’t see his toes to beat him? Highly doubt those other extremely skilled and proven men stand a chance...he beats Jack probably but he’s not shown me he’s beating Louis Liston or Marciano.

He’s probably too big for Marciano size sometimes does matter.
Louis and Liston although both are giving away physical attributes both have the capability of finding his chin especially Liston who wouldn’t be outreached.

Possibly, but I can't think of too many things Ruiz does better than Rocky.

The thing with this kind of question is that you are asking what would happen if something that cannot possibly exist in its current form in the older era.

The fighters from the old eras can exist as they were in modern eras. But modern fighters cannot exist as they are today in the old eras. Because The drugs had not yet been invented then to make those tall men quite so functional as boxers.

The question you should be asking is what would AJ look like if he lived in the Johnson, Marciano and Louis era? And would he be able to function as a top fighter?

You may as well ask would AJ be a gangly glass chinned sparring partner with thin arms and a long neck? or would he be a limited uncoordinated oaf with no stamina?

Joshua would probably be better in that era tbh. His stamina would most likely be better and his coordination never really seems off. He’d be giving off a lot of strength without ped’s but the talent and size is there.

Louis was extremely chinny and was hittable. Also, with a 6-inch reach disadvantage against Joshua (76' vs 82'), combined with his slow footspeed, he would not be able to bullrush Joshua and get in a punch before taking one for the KO loss. Marciano had a great chin but was even slower, more hittable, and smaller than Louis was. He would also lose by KO to Joshua. Only Liston with his reach, jab, head movement, and power would stand a chance, but I could not decidedly favor him against Joshua.

Oh yeah, knocked out twice in 69 fights including 13 with world champions.

Clearly had a glass jaw and poor defence, just the sort of results you'd expect. Well done 10/10 analysis.

He's 31 years old and has been professional fighter for over 7 years.
He's had 10 "world title" fights.
He's tasted defeat and come back, he's faced contenders and experienced veterans and won.
He's an experienced fighter in his prime.

Joe Louis would mash him up.

Anthony Joshua is what he is. He's a good heavyweight, but nowhere near a great one.

Joshua was destroyed by the blob FFS.
Gassed out, sheepishly smiling, spitting out his gumshield, body language saying "I don't want this", inside 7 rounds, complete mental and physically broken.
Beat him in the rematch though but didn't try to destroy him, was too worried about getting hit again.
2 fights against a guy who's so fat he's not even in normal shape for an average 30 year couch potato, a short-armed blob about 45% body fat who didn't even train.

Now, he beats a 39 year old man who was never much good to begin with, and people are talking like he'd destroyed legends and warriors of the past, "inside 3 rounds".
    yeah, okay, whatever.
