Got rocked and/or knocked by nearly every fighter he fought including a feather fisted (for a LHW lmao) 169-lb. Billy Conn and a 185-lb. Ezzard Charles. Why did you drop out of school?

Also, I never said Louis had a poor defense, just that it was not good enough to get past Joshua’s range without getting hit because he was also too slow-footed, small, and deficient in reach. Please learn English at

I would confidently pick Joe Louis to beat Joshua. No comment on the other two

You've clearly only watched the select fights where Louis struggled, with a strong bias towards when he was shot to bits.

He had almost 70 fights, and fought world class opponents from the year he turned pro, until his last fight.

The Baer, Pastor, Braddock, and Conn fights all occurred no later than 1941 when Louis was still in his prime. Notice how I didn’t have to include Schmeling

Joe Louis was so great every time someone tries to slate him they invariably end up listing a bunch of guys he knocked the **** out.

Despite being a fighter for over 7 years he’s only had 25 fights and doesn’t even have 120 rounds under his belt, so he’s still pretty green. He’s in his prime and has been very successful, but he’s definitely not very experienced yet and it shows in many of his fights.

True ... but at this rate, realistically, he's not going to get much better.
He might end his career with 32 fights. His prime might last another 2 or 3 fights only.
He has several millions in the bank already after all.

This is a grear point when it comes to these hypotheticals. Do we just drop Joshua in the middle of 1939? Or in this scenario is Joshua born in 1908 and has t deal with the training/diet/drugs of the time? How would Louis look if he was born the same year as Joshua? Probably bigger and has access to all the advantages Joshua has from the evolution of athletics. Does Joshua not get the prolonged training camps and instead is fighting like a lot of guys at the time once or twice a month?

Anyway trying to adjust these variables is always tough.

The only boxers fat enough to defeat AJ (besides Ruiz) were Two Ton Tony Galento, Butterbean and the one, the only, Dustin Nichols.

Joe, Rocky, and Johnson were in with guys who would be light heavyweights and cruiserweights today. Hell even rocky and Louis would be a lhw and cruiser today. They’d be up against a guy who’s 240lbs of power punching muscle and who has a significant height and reach advantage. It also doesn’t help that he knows how to use it. Honestly it’s not even fair to put the top heavyweights of the 50s and below against the top dogs of today

In one off fantasy fights between HW champs, who the hell knows?

But if AJ was born in any of their eras, do I think he'd have been the dominant champ, I genuinely don't.

I think this is the only way to look at it.

without modern help we don’t even know what the hell AJ would look like.

He could have a protruding Adam’s apple and bandy legs...

or he could be a very good fighter who was a bit too big and injury prone to make it in those days. Fighters fought longer and more often.
