Is it though ? fury isn't that elusive in reality. It's not like Wilder was hitting thin air. He was catching Fury regularly enough. If Wilder , who lets be honest is a poor boxer (decent fighter) , can land then a much more technically sound Wlad should have been able to. After the Wilder fight I've got a soft spot for Fury but truth be told, Prime Wlad would have knocked him out.
Fury is the most elusive fighter in the division. Well, behind Oqeundo of course. He was catching Fury that regular at all. Not cleanly anyway. Wilder is quite a poor boxer but the one thing he does do well is set up his right hand. Outside of that, he struggles. Wlad just didn't have an answer for Fury's movement, whereas Wilder is more of a risk taker, which is what got him countered and what got him buzzed a little. Now, if you want to make the argument that Wlad was past his best then I'll agree. If you want to make the argument that a Steward-led Wlad would do better, then I'd agree. But I think Fury's style is just Hell for Wlad in general. Either way, my post is more to do with the idea that Wlad simply had an off night against Fury. I don't think that's the case at all. To my mind, AJ's way of fighting is just much easier for Wlad to be in with that Fury's.
He was not outboxed - lucky if 10 punches were thrown between both fighters all night in what was the worst stinker ever seen in a boxthing ring and a flagship PPV event. Wlad feasted on a combination of old/fat/small puddings his whole career including pudding Haye - when he comes across a man not intimidated by him he cannot let his hands go.
“Fury isn’t that elusive”... Have a day off. I swear loads of posters here have only recently started watching boxing. Wilder barely landed on Fury I don’t know what ****ing fight you saw...
Agreed. According to the punch stats, Wilder missed 151 power shots (landed 31). A load of them would have knocked him spark out had they landed, they were thrown (and missed) with full ferocity and were proper head hunters.
Cutman Kerry Kayes was very critical of Fury's cut team (Roach, I'm sure). He said he was bewildered that they weren't putting any Vaseline on Fury's face as that helps to prevent friction marks/nicks from the gloves scraping off the face. He said that's why fury's forehead looked the way it did. As for Fury, he can be elusive but he's hardly Willie Pep. You always feel as if he can get clipped with a big shot at any moment. The last ten seconds of the Wlad fight was incredibly stupid. He's lucky not to have been KO'd the way he just walked forward without the gloves up or head movement - there does seem to be lapses in concentration.
He seems to be getting accused of being inferno. I'm not sure about that but TonyHayers is 1 million percent @OpinionOfACasual .. That's who he really is. Talking of forgetting to sign in on the other alt. Members from a few years ago will remember the "boxer" on here called @DaManz84 (or something similar). It was @TERRYTIBBS alt and he once forgot to sign back out and posted on his Terry account by accident. If it wasn't obvious before, then that would surely give the game away, but people are so gullible. I blame the GMOs. I could pop on the general thread and say "Amir Khan wants historic catchweight showdown with Deontay Wilder" and people will believe it on here.
Makes me laugh mate.. @TonyHayers @Aydamn @Jojojojo is apperently the same person...i couldnt give a damn if it is i just find it a bit sad...like proper sad lol. Imagine being a twat in real life and a twat on the internet..what a fail !
