Trying to talk himself into a big fight. Can't do that being respectful and quiet. Seems to be getting attention hopefully it works. Brits who are real boxing fans don't want Joshua-Whyte 2 and Aussies/Kiwis who are real boxing fans would rather not see Parker-Browne.
Stormy is a New Zealander?! Thats surprising! I forgot you could be a kiwi and not support Parker. I thought he was british lol. Shows how much I know. I liked Tua, Cameron, Peau too and I too was let down by them in their big fights. Hey thanks speed, Ill remember you guys are kiwis. I thought it was only me, Lith, Naki and Kiwi that was the only NZers on here. Good to know.
Parker should be grateful that he may be fighting at the principality stadium..... Guy didn't look out of place on youtube ffs.
Great fight if it happens Good to see more unification I hope the winner wins decisively and leaves no question After Joshua’s last fight with Takem, I am now leaning towards Parker, as I think he is the better overall fighter and probably has just as much one shot KO power as Joshua does. But Joshua’s offensive “swarms” are very effective and will be very tough for Parker Good fight. Bring it on !!
Getting very close now. More news on this- https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/5106...unification-fight-principality-stadium-march/
Stormy was on the old Davidtua forums which were cranking pre-2010, and was strangely more supportive of David Tua at a time Tua was showing less promise than Parker is showing right now - I'm still a bit stunned at how anti-Parker he acts, I realise a LOT of Kiwis are unrealistic about their expectations from Joe but he definitely earns credit where it's due. So far while there have been a few cracks showing, he seems like he's going to carry on refining his game and will hopefully not get as lazy with diet and exercise while in down time.... he clearly slipped a bit in the last year and is apparently addressing that. Those articles saying it's really close, I'm not sure how that works. Team Joshua don't seem keen to budget from 30% to Parker, Team Parker are set on 35%. If there is no movement then its not getting any closer, though 32.5% would be quite fair to both sides imho.
Seems like they may have agreed on the split and it's just a matter of the fine details then drawing up the contracts and getting them signed. Parker quote: "The fight with Joshua is very close. We've had a bit of a pause as we find middle ground where both teams are happy." “But I think we've come to a conclusion - we're just going to tidy things up, lock it in and get the fight going. "We want to lock something in before Christmas, so we can all have a holiday and enjoy it and then hit camp." https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/boxing/5181108/anthony-joshua-agrees-joseph-parker-fight-money/
Cool! Looking forward to this. I spent a long time rather unimpressed with Joshua. Or maybe not unimpressed, but not as taken by his defeats of guys like Martin as some people. But after the Klitschko fight, and the way he conducted himself in the build-up to that fight, I ate my words and decided he's a good champion and a refreshing one. I like Parker for similar reasons. Not mouthy, and a good, if not great, boxer. I think this might be the first time AJ goes the distance - Parker has a solid chin, and is good enough to land his own shots on Joshua. That said, I'm not sure he's good enough to stop AJ, and over twelve rounds I can't see him outpointing him either, especially not in Britain. His come-forward style matches up nicely with Joshua's more reactive one, and this feels (as with AJ-VK) like one of those fights where no matter who loses, everyone wins. Except the loser, obviously.
