What is the difference if the fight is in March or in the summer really ?

May Pacman is the exception to the norm the fight is likely to happen next year so the example does not fit here, economics had nothing to do with Lewis Bowe, Bowe flat out refused the fight simple as that.

If the fight doesnt happen in 2018 I will be peaved but it seems both want it they just looking to hype it up for a big stadium fight in the summer, nothing wrong with that.

Why wait. As a fan why would I want to see Wilder vs Brezeale instead of Wilder vs Joshua.

You say it's the exception, really?

Let's just look at boxing right here right now and see how many fights featuring the best are due to take place.

HW: Joshua and Wilder, not happening next.
CW: best guys in a tourney so fair enough.
    LHW: Stevenson vs Kovalev unlikely.
    SMW: DeGale vs Ramirez unlikely.
MW: Golovkin vs Canelo just happened, fair enough.
    LMW: Charlo vs Lara unlikely.
    WW: Thurman vs Spence unlikely.
LWW: Crawford just beat Indongo fair enough.
LW: Garcia vs Linares could happen, maybe.
    SFW: Loma vs Berchelt unlikely.
FW: LSC vs Frampton probably will happen again.
    SBW: no one wants Rigo.
    BW: Burnett vs Nery unlikely
SFLW: Rung vs Inoue has a decent chance.
    FLW: Ioka vs Higa unlikely.
    LFLW: Shiro vs Guevara unlikely.
    STW: KO vs Menayothin unlikely.

So out of all the divisions only 6 are likely to have the best face each other.

I'm sick of politics and economics getting in the way of fights. I am a fight fan, not a business fan. I can't understand why any fan of the sport cares who gets paid what or what the margins are. We should all want the same thing. The best facing each other every time with no exceptions.

That's an excellent point you make.

I'm a teacher. So my "fans" equivalent is the children and their parents.

Do you think they care what petty squabbles I have with my paymasters? No. They want education at the highest standard, every time, no exceptions.

They don't care what my bank balance looks like, they only care that their children get the best quality education available.

Now me as a person, my family, my bank, all those stakeholders care about my financial situation. My mortgage company cares about my financial situation.

But the parents, they want what's best for their children.

The boxing fans want what's best for them as well.

I don't have to empathise with a situation, I'm not a counsellor giving advice. I'm nothing but a boxing fan who's frustrated that politics and economics get in the way of the of what could be a constant flow of the best fighting the best.

But would you deliver that at half the cost just to satisfy your peers ?

Unfortunately boxing is these guys living and its a tough hard career not to mention a short career. As much as us the fans want to see the best fight the best and I am the the same we have to realise sometimes the financials do not stack up to the risk they need to take when they take these tough fights.

I honestly think the AJ Wilder fight will happen in 2018 and as long as it does at any time during the next year I will be satisfied it doesnt have to happen in March and if both fighters get a few more quid by delaying till the summer then who are we to criticise.

Well most teachers do extra hours unpaid, most work for 4 months before a patristic is backdated, most take on extra responsibilities above and beyond their pay scale. Obviously that's because for us teaching is a vocation and whilst it is a job, it's never just a job.

I don't have to realise anything. Ultimately Joshua will do what he wants and Wilder will do what he wants. My thoughts and opinions have no consequences on what will be. I'm not a fan of Joshua, I'm not a fan of Wilder. I don't care if they get paid ten pound or ten billion. In this context the only thing I care about is they fight.

Fans, that's who we are. We're fans. We should criticise every occasion when the best possible fight is not made.

Parker belongs in the top ten. He's not old and has some sold wins.

You could say this is Joshua's first real test besides a 41 year old Wlad, whom he almost lost too.

Parker has regressed a bit, and you just dolt know what Joshua will weigh. The middle to later round for me will be the most interesting.

The most important thing to me is we have a prime vs prime type of match up that matters.

Unpaid overtime is not working for half your worth or salary, you would not do your job for half the salary, none of us would why should it be any different for professional fighters ?

What we want is irrelevant and sometimes as fight fans we need more patience, personally I feel sometimes the build up can be very exciting and this will roll on and on until the fight is made. Bad guy against the good guy, loudmouth against the quiet destroyer, the fight has a ready made story that both camps need to sell to the casuals to ensure both guys get paid as much as possible as this fight could effectively end either guys career at the top.

As long as the fight happens in 2018 I don't see what your issue is at all, do I want to see them fight ? YES of course, do I begrudge them building the fight to the casuals to maximise revenue ? not at all.

It's a stadium fight so that means the summer, it could also potentially be for all the belts if either of them face Parker in the Spring .. do you not agree that if all the belts where on the line it would make the fight more special ?

Yes your right, unpaid overtime I'd working for zero percent of a salary. Much less than half.

We don't need patience. We just need fights, fights of the best possible quality.

I've followed the sport too long to know that big fights are rarely one interim fight away from happening. That's why they should be made whenever they can.

If that means the summer why is their talk of fighting Parker in March? Is that not a stadium fight?

Any fight involving all 4 belts is special, but any fight involving the top 2 in the division is also special. Joshua vs Wilder ticks that box. The winner can then face Parker to tick the box again.

Parker is not a name just a belt holder and you know yourself it is far from a stadium fight, plus he stunk the place out against Fury. Wilder AJ is a stadium fight and all parties make a ton of money. Best business is AJ or Wilder fight Parker in March then they go at it in a huge fight in the summer that the biggest number of fans can go see live.

Just have some faith both fighters want it, the money is there the fight will happen.

    You want the best business.

    I want the best fight.

I don't care who has name value and who doesn't. Crawford vs Indongo was a brilliant fight because it was the best facing the best.

I want the best fights I just understand that it is a PROFESSION as well as a sport, its their job and unlike your and my career its extremely short and us as fans and punters need to show some patience sometimes.

Why do we need to? Why would I be happy if instead of Wilder vs Joshua I get Wilder vs Brezeale.

Why would I be happy with that.

I'll tell you what's wrong with that.

Wilder vs Joshua is a better fight for me than Wilder vs Brezeale.

If there's a guarantee it happens after that I'm ok, but I'm not ok with Wilder vs Brezeale and then negotiations start again.
