I don't completely agree with it, but I can understand why they would put their #1 and #3 against eachother for it.
With Wilder's demands in mind, it looks like that fight isn't going to take place anytime soon, and there's also the chance he won't even win his next fight, with such a big step up in class.

Then about the whole Fury lineal situation, that is even less relevant as when Briggs held it when Lennox was the top dog. I don't understand why people are still that hung up on that distinction. It holds zero real value.

They should just leave it vacant for now.

They weren't real champions since they didn't beat Stevenson.

If Fury doesn't schedule a fight soon it should be made vacant and stay vacant until the Joshua -Parker winner fights #2 Wilder.

Wilder will just shout something about being a king and demand 50/50 from the aliens who when they ask him what he wants 50/50 of will see him put on a silly gold masquerade mask and shout bomb squad for 5 minutes straight! They'll then leave saying they want nothing more to do with us for the foreseeable future.

What I'm reading from Doug Fisher, it's more likely that the ring belt will go up for grabs between the winners of Joshi vs Parker and Ortiz vs Wilder.

I see no reason to crown a new ring champion until this round robin of
Joshua/Parker and Wilder/Ortiz has been finalized. The person that
comes out on top of this is the legit champion IMHO.

There's been too many shenanigans and Frankensteinery surgery been done to boxing to think that any of the ABC belts, ring or lineal etc actually mean anything anymore.

I'd wipe the whole slate clean as a bad job. Start again with one title per division.

Is Parker ranked #2 or #3? If the belt is vacant, anytime a #1 faces a #2 or #3, it can be for the Ring Magazine belt.

    He's the #3
But #1 vs #3 needs to be discussed first, and is usually when there's not much chance that the #1 and #2 are actually going to fight (like with Wlad and Vitali).
There's a chance it will be for the Ring belt, but according to Dougie himself, it probably won't.
