This would be an awesome match up. Joshua vs Razor Ruddock. Put AJ in Mike Tyson shoes when he took on Ruddock how do you guys believe it plays out? I think it goes the distance with Joshua winning a very close back and forth decision...

I think I would go for AJ in this one.Ruddock could box behind a very decent jab when he wanted to, trouble is he seldom wanted to.
He fell in love with his power and thought his "smash " would bail him out every time, it worked against the also rans, but class guys only had to watch for that one punch.
AJ is far from the finished article and he may not improve significantly, but he at least demonstrates more dimensions to his game than Razor usually did.

I would favor Ruddock mid to late stoppage.
Faster with his hook/uppercut , more athletic, better stamina, can throw his smash all night long.

I think you're looking more at a Lennox/Ruddock parallel than a Tyson/Ruddock one to be honest.

My bet would be on Joshua, but I've yet to see anything to suggest my money would be safe. I'd give him about 2-1 odds.

AJ's lock and stock is based on beating shot WK.

Nobody in their right mind would pick that version of WK to topple a peak Ruddock, as a matter of fact, WK would get stopped pretty early, you can bank on it. Razor had never conditioning problems and the pace alone would KO WK.

Pure power, well, the way Razor laid out past prime Dokes and Boneclutcher was frightening.

50/50 fight because AJ does not fight at range , he wants to trade and that is Ruddocks bread and butter.......one thing for sure, if Razor lands the smash flush AJ aint getting up.

Ruddock was very wild with that left hand and was wide open, i think it would resemble the Lewis fight. Joshua would drop him with a straight right and finish the job there and then.

I for one think Ruddock had comparable punching power to Foreman. But AJ is the more skilled fighter, Ruddock in the Tyson fight showed better stamina than AJ did vs WK. Hard to make a pick. Ruddock showed a solid chin prior to Tyson. Favoring Ruddock by a hair.
