Joshua vs Usyk, how good of a chance does Usyk have?

The thing is... We've never seen Usyk really slow down ever. He's fighting at the same pace for 12 rounds and we both know AJ is very prone to gassing out in the middle rounds and having a 2nd wind late on. If AJ imposes himself in the clinch which would be a viable tactic then that could take some steam off Usyk but lets be honest the mans enginge is endless.
I think one of the reasons why Usyk is putting on weight is to counter AJ's clinch

 

Well, looks that for germans Usyk looked not enough good tickets seller if fight will be in Ukraine.
WBSS fights had not been officiated by local refs, inspectors or judges so looks that integrity had been maintained. Vs Briedis he had dealt just razor close barely despite biased Usyk's fans comments ( especially if compare with Ukrainian pundits opinions ).

I did not had intent to compare in plain way Usyk's resume at CW.

For example, vs Glowacki he had far more risky fight rather than vs Briedis or Gassiev. While Briedis and Gassiev were not under Germans when they had fought vs Usyk, Glowacki fight was far more risky regards to possible cards.
Glowacki was huge tickets seller in Poland with 2-0 record in world title fights in US and U.K. Then Usyk was not well known.

For example the same fight vs Huck in Germany. While Huck really had lost fights vs Briedis, Glowacki and Cunningham under belt, this was not some manufactured guy: Huck was KB champ in ams, this is far more brutal stuff than am boxing per se.
Huck even had HW boxing experience: being approx 209 lbs he fought vs then undefeated 32 y.o undefeated pro boxer in Povetkin who was internationally known as proven am superstar. Povetkin 28-36 vs Povetkin 37 and older it was no question if compare these versions.
Huck performed pretty well vs Povetkin, better than Hunter and Whyte in first fight vs 40 y. 11 months old Povetkin. Long ago well known as being over the hill and legless ghost.
Povetkin vs Huck fight was first Pov fight he I think did not had won, I had scored this as a draw.
Okey, he had mistakes vs Cunnigham and Glowacki ( fight he almost had won clearly until 1 mistake happened ) , had prime Briedis in the ring but he is only 3 months older than Briedis and looks that most likely was approx 209 lbs in the ring like at weight ins vs Pov.

Hunter fight. While puny cruiserweight, I think this was most mobile his version, with very low fat. I think better than Hunter's HW version that had old over the hill Pov in the ring at HW.

Briedis. While he is more well known for his power cos he had stopped Charr, he had some very impressive stoppage wins in semi pro and ams vs guys who really does hit very hard for HW boxing or KB criteria applied to pros. Some from them I think were considerably more dangerous than Charr, also younger and more mobile with higher output than Charr might offer.
Okey, barely won this one vs Briedis.

Gassiev too I think hits more hard than bunch with fat slobs at HW division.
Usyk also is from Ukraine and looks that had good relationships vs Vitali and Wlad, had sparred vs them and I think this get him a lot pros for fights vs Briedis and Gas.

Usyk does have minuses: he is boxer not a puncher or boxer - puncher or puncher - boxer.
Long mileage under belt in ams too gaves big bonuses and also big minuses. Add to this this then shark tank division at CW with elite level opponents in their real prime in his title fights at CW, this most likely is too much.

 

He will also be losing his stamina and some speed by putting on more weight. I'd come in as light as possible and fight to my strengths that is moving boxing with speed. You're not going to win a contest of strength with AJ so why put on extra weight? Wilder did that against fury and it turned out badly in the rematch. I think that added weight a career high for usyk is a potential huge mistake imo.

 

I questioned it at first but Usyk has a really good team around him, there must be a reason better than "countering AJs clinch" to put all that weight on. Maybe Usyk realises that he will never get a decision win vs AJ and maybe the reason for putting on some size without sacrificing too much speed is to go for a KO which might be his only path to victory with British judging.

I think Usyk does carry power, his punches are all mostly short and straight and he usually doesn't get the hips involved, but if he sits down on his punches he can do some damage

 

The closest thing to Usyk he fought in the pros is Joseph Parker and that fight went the distance so im not so sure about that

More than this, he will fight vs ref, judges, eddie and A.J.

I actually think it was not worth for him to do. There in the world are more things to earn for a living and more comfortably than to fight vs eddie guys.

Eddie future dream: A.J still is highly usable, it is possible to earn with White and Chisora still with a glance, new superstars in Okolie and Buatsi, then to have mega stars in Conor Benn and dudes like Hatton Jr etc alike things.
Everything else here is only unnecessary problem. Okey, he most likely gladly might appreciate get some Canelo fights under his wing.
