    Also Joshua must beat Parker.
    2 BIG ifs.
    They are gambling here.

Don't even bother reasoning with Dubblechin.. Completely delusional and has his head up his ass.

Deontay Wilder's ratings aren't abysmal. I don't know why you keep saying that. All of his title fights drew more than a million homes, and I believe Wilder-Duhaupas drew well over 2 million. That's fine.

What U.S. fighter has drawn more viewers in his title fights in the last two years? Maybe Thurman? Maybe Danny Garcia. That's about it.

And the Wilder-Arreola fight was thrown together when the Povetkin fight fell apart and was placed in Birmingham, which is a small city and not a very wealthy city. There are like 200,000 residents there. In that regard, a huge percentage of the city actually showed up.

Regardless, Birmingham isn't a major U.S. city. New York. Chicago. Dallas. Los Angeles. Philadelphia. You know, MAJOR cities. Not Birmingham.

Larry Holmes fought in Scranton (which is about as close to his hometown of Easton as he could get) once when he was champ, against Lucien Rodriguez, and that only drew a couple thousand people ... and fans booed him through the final rounds. And that was essentially the fight he brought to his local fans. It was a disaster in terms of gate.

Wilder's ratings are just fine. Boxing isn't one of the major sports in the U.S. anymore.

But Wilder will draw more viewers in the U.S. for a Joshua fight than any other U.S. fighter Joshua could get.

Isn't Wilder due a mandatory defence, like by far the best opponent he ever faced? And same goes for Joshua for the matter, with Parker on his tail.

Late 2017 isn't just far away in time, but also too far away soon to talk about because both guys are still due to get properly tested.

I'm sure Joshua an handle Parker. But I think it'll be a good fight while it lasts.

Well... According to Dubblechin here Duhaupas is a legit top 10 HW who knocks Povetkin out. We've got it wrong here I'm afraid, Wilder has been taking on real world beaters. Why should he stop? 20 more voluntary defenses for Wilder!

He'll have to fight whomever the WBC decides is their top available contender first. That's why they're talking late 2017.

But going back to the bridges Povetkin has burned, Espinoza didn't even mention Povetkin's name when discussing fighters like Wilder, Joshua and Parker.

Showtime was supposed to televise Wilder-Povetkin. And now Espinoza seems to have no interest now. He didn't even bring up a rescheduled fight. He's just looking ahead to Wilder and Joshua. Showtime is far more interested in that.

That's what happens when you (Povetkin) screw a network out of the ONE major heavyweight fight on their schedule this year. They wash their hands with you.

Povetkin has a reputation for becoming the mandatory and then not showing up for the fights. It's happened THREE TIMES now. Looks like three times was enough for Showtime.

AJ will be favored, but IMO no more than 60/40.
    Same with Wilder vs. Povetkin.

You think if Wilder could fill an Arena in Los Angeles, Las Vegas or New York he wouldn't be fighting there? Wilder can't draw people to see him box, that's the problem. That's why they have to box in his backyard, because outside of Alabama nobody has ever heard of Wilder. And even in his home town he barely fills out 60% of the venue vs. Arreola :rofl:rofl

Vitali vs. Arreola drew 2.1 million.. on HBO. Wilder draws half that vs. Arreola on free to air TV :yep:yep

One year in boxing time is 100,000,000 years in normal human time. Anything can happen in a one year boxing time period. The dinosaurs may come back and rule the earth. Glaciers may cover North America. Lincoln might re-free the slaves. Pacquiao could beat Mayweather. ANYTHING can happen.

Its because he lacks a signature win. A win over an unbeaten champion knockout artist will propel him to s****om especially if he were to win by ko. I think if both guys are undefeated itll draw a lot of interest especially if ESPN covers it in the leading weeks to the fight.

And yet he has a much better record than Wilder.
