Joshua probably already fought a generally similar level of competition (bar a few exceptions) and looks a more complete fighter already. Power probably isn't as good as wilder but he delivers his shots a lot better and less telegraphed. Both will hopefully bring a lot of excitement to the division when they step up.
Just watched Joshua's third fight, alright the opponent wasn't great but AJs hand speed and accuracy was phenomenal for a middleweight let alone a 6'7" Heavyweight. He beats Wilder!
whoever lands first probably! Always the case when you got two bangers going at it. Joshua - gold medalist. Wilder - bronze. So Joshua has better amateur pedigree. He looks more technical and tidy technique wise already than Wilder who looks sloppy and err wild sometimes. But how much does Deontay learn from having loads of easy low level opponents that rarely take him any rounds? He is an unknown quantity and at 30 fights he should've been tested by now a few times...but they keep feeding him the kind of opponents that you expect for your first 10 fights...why?? Chin problems? Sounds likely...but we don't know what Joshuas whiskers are like yet..he could be just the same. Time will tell. Deontay is further on in terms of his pro career despite his weak opposition...his confidence is probably soaring. Joshua is just starting out...i can see him vs Huey Fury being a decent fight in a few months time domestically. Wilder or Joshua??? Hmmmm I'd edge it for Joshua looking at his techniqe...but really it is just a guess at this early stage. Which is all anyone can do with unknown quantities....
I'd favour Joshua. He's is just as athletic as Wilder but has better technique and already seems more polished. Better foot work, better balance, doesn't over commit, better jab, less open defensively and has a nice counter left hook, a skill which Wilder has only recently shown himself.
Joshua is not gold medalist, he has a gold medal , but that it's not a medal he won, that medal he got as a gift. Cuban schooled him in very first fight and then he lost at least once more .He also lost to mihai , medzhidov ,whyte . He's nothing special and I think Wilder would KO him. Cruiserweight like Usyk would prob school him also.
Agreed, Wilder's footwork is very worrying imo, looks like bambi at times, **** knows what he will do when he get's hit by an elite heavyweight.
the more polished technique of Joshua has him winning in about 2 rounds. even though Wilder has been at the pro game for much longer than AJ, he clearly looks a few levels below the Londoner.
