Yet both teams are currently in negotiations. Would prefer him to get in with Bakole or Joyce before he goes near Wilder. Both winnable fights and boost the confidence. If he loses to either then a reality check.
Literally just watched the below vid from a few days ago. Here's a bit that stands out - Hearn gets asked about Bivol's next fight, he says Bivol wants the winner of Beterbiev/Smith (also the fight every fan wants), but then immediately says about that fight being in August, and Bivol will fight in August/September (August yeah right, but Hearn wants to frame it as a clash). Hearn then looks around a bit shiftily knowing he's about to veer to the part that nobody is asking for but makes him the money. He then says he'd like Bivol to fight a Brit (hmm where is this going), first name out of the hat is Anthony Yarde (very unlikely), and then we get down to it... Dan Azeez, who just so happens to now be a free agent and Hearn 'might' be making him an offer, of course happy that he can dangle the carrot of a world title shot. Such a shame that Hearn has the money to convince Bivol to go this way, instead of the fight he wants and all the fans want. This content is protected
Can't disagree mate. Hearn has plenty, he should give the public what they want. Bivol vs anyone not named Beterbiev is a waste of time.
Hearn served Bivol up for Canelo thinking Canelo was going to take the belt. Nobody wants to see Bivol fight Craig Richards and Dan Azeez ffs.
Joyce just got exposed for the hypejob he is. Bakole is a nobody. You keep pushing these guys Jurgs but they are shyte.
More people in the UK cared about Canelo Ryder than Canelo Plant since Ryder was a Brit. The Taylor Catterall rematch was announced to be on PPV, so you're wrong there too. Bivol has cleared out the division to be fair to him. He has beaten pretty much everyone apart from Beterbiev. Also don't know why people are complaining when Brits are receiving the opportunity to fight for a world title. Hopefully Callum Smith beats Beterbiev and then the Undisputed fight is easy to make. Anyway, Bivol has 1 fight left on his Matchroom deal so can fight Beterbiev on ESPN next without any excuses.
A few of my mates watched Canelo v Plant on BT. None of them watched Canelo Ryder on DAZN. I know they don’t represent the whole of the UK but it’s usually a decent metric when seeing how many people you know watched certain fights.
All of those fights mentioned would have been PPV. Joshua against everyone since Gary Cornish was PPV. Eric Molina FFS!
Am I the only person who doesn't mind this fight? Two broken/past it fighters, who don't like each other, which almost certainly won't go the distance, in probably a 50-50 matchup. What's not to like? I suppose if you're expecting Joshua to try and head back towards a title then it may seem a waste of time but I don't see any chance of that personally.
Said in another post - I quite like the fight for the reasons above, but wouldn't pay 20 quid to watch it. Probably listen to the radio.
Nobody but Hearn.. and it's going to be the same thing with whichever opponent he is looking at now for Joshua with Whyte asking for too much money. It'll need to be very low risk, but Eddie is thinking he can get a few more paydays from Joshua until he is cornered into fighting Wilder or someone else that the fans would actually want to see. Hrgovic, Zhang, Dubois or Joyce would all be quite entertaining in different ways.. so count them out.
