I think the wlad from corrie saunder, lamon Brewster was pre-prime wlad. The Wbo title holder wlad we are talking about.
When dismissing Joshua's win over Wlad alot of people discount the massive gulf in experience. Wlad wasn't prime physically but he was still in very good shape and very motivated. Add to that his huge experience, elite technical skills and ring IQ - that was a very very good win for Joshua
Joshua has fought two old men ( Wlad 41 out of the ring for 1.5 years, and Povektin age 39 ) When he gets to 60 total fights, and faces the amount of punchers Wlad has, then you can talk.
Lol the amount of punchers Wlad fought? Wlad did nothing but fight tomato cans, old men, and never will be. Yet he was still knocked out by 3 club fighters in Corrie Sanders, Ross Purrity, Lamon Brewster. He was knocked down 3 times by club fighter Sam Peter, Wlad was knocked down by Steve Pannell and Davarryl Williamson. Wlad is a joke who fought in a watered down era and AJ is a joke who fought in a watered down era. Oh and let me name the old men than Wlad fought. Hassim Rahman was 36 old and beat up. I believe Tony Thompson was 37 when he fought Wlad. Jean Marc Mormeck was 40. Ray Austin was 37 and he is a bum. Davarryl Williams was 36 and he is a bum. Corrie Sanders was 37 a bum and still knocked out Wlad in less than 4 minutes. Everett Martin was around 37 and Wlad couldn't hurt him or knock him down in their first fight. Then of course I could just name the tons of third rate hack fighters Wlad faced. When you don't get upset because somebody tells the truth about your boyfriend Wlad and when you learn about boxing then you can talk.
Another entirely false thread. 1. Kltchko was at his very best against Joshua anyone who saw ALL his fights would know that who didn't just watch him fight once, any doubters go listen to Stacey Mcenley on it who knows HW boxing too. He had never moved like he did against Joshua or trained for a fight that dangerous which made Wlad show up that night. If Joshua wasn't around ALL you guys would be saying how hes at his peak now bc he would knock out Wilder and have probably retired with 2 nmore defenses with NO Joshua around. 2. Povetkin had a killers row with sparring partners, he hits much harder then he did in previous years ( go watch the Byrd fight and tell me if that's the SAME puncher way back when) Povetkin was also more elusive then any fight ive seen him in ,certainly against a 6'6 guy with 82 inch reach, unless someone can point me otherwise ? The truth is neither Wlad or Povetkin were on the down side when they fought Joshua..in fact they got smarter and trained harder like anyone does against a Joshua ..in Povetkins case stronger and leaner which why he was faster too. Will Povertkin come back at the level he was? I doubt it but when not facing Joshua who is to say he needs to. Klitchko is a superior athlete as is Vitali who CAN come back himself and take 99% of todays guys as well if he really wanted to.... Joshua born in the right time/era ? No he can compete/defeat anyone at any given time,i know reality is hard to grasp as boxing fans and add in a fighters REAL resume which joshua hasn't even hit 25 fights yet...go check a long list of guys losing around that mark... lol
Nearly beat but he didn’t , at this point AJ is a very good fighter that after two so- so performances seems to be back on the right track with his last fight. A question for all is he getting better at his craft?
We nevet give the credit to the present fighters. “Prime Tyson would knock out Joshua in 2 rounds, GGG would be an average fighter in the 80s, Loma is bum etc. etc.”
The idea that Povetkin is some kind of boxing prodigy is a myth. Who are these so called names that Povetkin has beaten. Add the fact that guy is a steroid cheat, I just can't understand the reason for this guy being so overrated. Povetkin pre or post PED will never beat a fighter the level of Joshua.
Worse reaction time combined with worse explosiveness. All due to age. You cant deny it. It affects all parts of the game. The missed hook for example would not have missed an open target if wlad was prime.
So a prime Wlad of 50+ Fights would beat a young contender Joshua who's had 18 fights.... No $hit Sherlock. Yes Wlad more than likely would have won but his chin has always been his weak link and Joshua might have cracked it. Wlad would be massively favourite. What a pointless thread. Do you guys actually read what you write because it's complete bollocks. You guys have serious issues and inferiority complexes but whatever helps you sleep at night I guess.
The same way Douglas must be great for knocking out a prime Tyson right? All a man can ever do is fight in his era, no matter how strong or weak a perceived era is it's the one he must compete in. Wlad was the number 1 HW for a decade so in my book that makes him great, maybe not in yours but that's fine, this sport is subjective.
