Joshua was never hurt from the knockdown, I think he took a dive because he was staggered a bit

He was hurt but his equalibrium was o.k...theres different reactions and how fighters are hurt. He had knumb legs under him,you could see his slight wobbling motion...strong willed fighters fight through this and usually takes but a few steps to regain feeling,his strong legs no doubt saved him here.

Not enough credit is actually given to Joshua as he managed to slip and hold in the right spots to avoid further shots...This isnt a sighn of a finished fighter...the truth is Joshua fought back and knew not to engage in any punching until his legs got back under him.

 

He was badly hurt... And the left hook that whizzed past his head on the way down would have damn near decapitated him. Wlad really dropped the ball playing it safe and not finishing Joshua over the course of that round and the next 2-3. He had a man who out on his feet just waiting to be taken.

 

When I saw Joshua got up I thought the referee was going to stop the fight, he was really hurt, but Wlad took his time and Joshua recovered pretty well

 

This. Joshua also has a hard time keeping his hands up with all that muscle. Wlad seen Joshua keep his hands low one too many times and dropped him. I think 250lbs is too heavy for Joshua. At 240lbs he's more agile and I don't think he would gas as quickly. Wlad came in a 240lb and did great considering his age, but he is too old.

Joshua would pay dearly for keeping his hands low like that against Wilder or Ortiz. Wilder had such a hard time trying to get rid of Stiverne, since Stiverne for most of the the fight kept his hands up. Hopefully Joshua's team fixes that.

 

I said this too, he did do well to comeback, but theres no doubt he was seriously hurt

 

Wlad was sloppy as f@ck with them lead left hooks, even an unsteady AJ could avoid them...Imo he could've set up far better behind a jab or even a lead right hand, but not the hooks he was throwing. They took too long to reach their target, AJ was ready for them

 

Joshua is so experienced he took a page out of Tony Thomspon playbook. Just get hit in the face and take a nap in the ring.

 

because no one has really tried to hit him before except for once early in his career and Dillain whyte. and that fight (Klitschko) he got hit flush quite a few times before the knockdown. and some that really snapped his head back. he's actually got a fairly solid chin. he just gets tired relatively easily because of all that useless muscle and he's much more susceptible to being knocked down

 

Took his time? Maybe that was Vlad on high gear.

 

he was very slow in getting up and it took him a while to recover. oh sure, not hurt at all.

 

LMAO krusher mode on but I remember Wlad rushing and trying to get the knockout on other fights

 

That right hand shook his ass all the way down to his bootstraps.

 

He's truly lucky that Wlad was 41. Truly lucky.

 

What I took from this fight was a that Wladhas more power than Joshua , and by quite a margin


It took Joshua several shots accumulating to put Wlad down but.....

One clean Wlad shot and down Joshua went and he was hurt/ he was still unsteady for sometime after that
