Yes, an excellent example/point; exactly what would of happened in the UK thirty years ago; but as I pointed out, the Europeans are three decades behind us in the way boxing is sold to the fancy.

I blame the fighters and promoters for this.

The BBC did have a go with the big Fraudley and he single handed wasted millions of pounds of taxpayers money plus ruined the opportunities for future boxers.

Fish and Eddie are really piling up stinking domestic cards month after month so I can understand why these channels show no interest.

The Sky mugs who fork out for PPV will wake up eventually - I was laughed at in the pub for predicting a stinker points win for Money against Pac.

Fighters paid obscene amounts for this fight do not give a t oss about entertainment.

They live and learn but hopefully that experience will have seriously damaged the PPV market.

Saying "well that's just the way it's always been" isn't good enough. The sport is in desperate need of reform. Numbers are dwindling and that's because progress isn't being made in the right areas.

Europe isn't backward, it's just using a different and I would say better model.

Based on what? It's free-to-air over there and yet how many world level German born boxers can you name?

Eddie Hearn and Sky know the hype surrounding AJ is growing fast so they are going to try and bleed as much out of him as they can.

I hope Whyte knocks him out just to **** the greedy cants off

Based in Germany? There was loads until recently when lots of them saw their career decline.

Use a search engine to find some. I'd suggest google.

In effect, you know your point is moot.

As I said, how many German BORN world class fighters are there out there? Try answering the question this time.

    Yup.

    From the Matchroom website

"Anthony Joshua MBE and Dillian Whyte are predicting a knockout night when they clash for the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight titles in Bad Intentions at The O2 in London on December 12, live on Sky Sports"

They'd be nuts to do a PPV 13 days from Christmas imo.

Bellew - Clev was the exact same and then turned into a PPV.

Worth noting that it doesn't state a specific channel it's on, merely that it's on the Sky Sports platform.

Do you honestly think that with 3 months build-up and fighters like Bellew in a world title fight being lined up for the same card it'll be on the standard Sky Sports channels? No chance.

Hearn was on twitter talking about the card being a "monster" I can definitely see him making it ppv if he gets bellew and Mitchell world title fights on there

German born, based in Germany what difference does it make? All boxing countries go through peaks and troughs in how many title holders they have at different points.

Lots of German people are watching their fights on terrestrial and they're getting paid handsomely for it as a result. This proves that you don't need PPV to make boxing lucrative for the fighters.

if you don't have PPV then you need the terrestrial channels to put big money in the sport, which they haven't done for ages

You've forgotten the original point you made.:lol::lol:

Let me help you, you're a huge fan of the German free-to-air model, telling us it's needed and how boxing participation is down in this country etc etc.

Now, as I said, given that Germany uses the model you so dearly love, please name of the world class boxers that are German born.

The reason you don't include non-domestic fighters is because they aren't ****ing German.

You've literally just made stuff up. I spoke about boxing AT LARGE of which viewership and interest is massively down on previous generations. This obviously also impacts on boxing at a grass roots level.

One way to revive interest would be to have fights free to air. I can't believe even someone like you would argue against that. Actually I can. Even your username was selected to troll people.

    1) They never announced Bellew Clev 2 as being on Sky Sports. Hearn said in an IFL interview that heading to the presser they had posters for both "Sky Sports" and "Sky Sports Box Office" and the decision was a late one.

Reading between the lines on that one the PPV decision came from Sky and not Matchroom.

Matchroom also put a poster up on Twitter saying Sky Sports for Joshua Whyte.

    2) Sky don't announce their listings until 2 months before and everything is subject to change across their 5 sports channels.

    3) You could say the same for the recent Manchester Card, that had 2 World Title fights and was on normal Sky Sports. I'm also not convinced Bellew is in a World Title fight. I think it could be an Eddie Special - Eliminator/Final Eliminator/Final Final Eliminator - that he loves to wheel out.

Same goes for Mitchell. Boxrec have got Linares fighting Ivan Cano in October so whos Mitchell going to be fighting for a World Title? He's got to be in an Eliminator.
