I’ve got loads of respect for Parker he did everything he could but as you say he just couldn’t negate Joshua’s physical advantages. I suppose it now depends whether he sees a future for himself as a boxer, he’s been a good World Champion, boxed in front of 80,000 people, headlined a major event and done his heritage proud.
Maybe he should chase Wilder, he’d beat him!

Yep definitely. I had Joe winning 3 and feel the ref has to take some blame for making the fight a bit less explosive than it could have been - though it's impossible to say if without that who would have come off better. I think the in the pocket exchanges were pretty competitive, just that it's the most likely time Joe was going to be able to do anything which may hurt AJ. Obvious that AJ also would have been able to hurt Joe.

I feel like saying "I told you so" to the people who thought Joshua would walk through Parker like he was nothing. Where is this KO in the first 3 rounds? I remember saying somewhere on here that people would say that it just wasn't AJs best performance or whatever other excuse but Parker is just a better tougher boxer than he gets credit for.

Good technical fight and deserved (and expected) win. Hope Joe can get back in the mix soon

 

Parker is very tough. I did expect him to lose. But I thought he would at least get knocked down a couple of times, if it went to the scorecards. Humble guy, just like David Tua.

Every kiwi poster on here seems so decent and likeable, kinda like Parker himself. This thread and @KiwiMan scorecard in the rbr are testament to the good nature and integrity of New Zealand. Wish we had more of you lot and less dumb biased yanks and brits.

I would say for Parker, that loss don't derail his career at all. Gone up in my estimation, I think, I would rank him higher than Ortiz on that display. One of the first times, the bodybuilder was hesitant to throw, he hurt Joshua in some of those rounds.

 

That head grab uppercut thing he does is disgusting lol
