It`s clear AJ has excellent boxing skills and technique. Wilder is just a crude swinger, who his virtually no boxing ability. If they ever meet it will be a mismatch with Joshua boxing Wilders ears off before leveling him.
50-50 fight. Joshuas Boxing skills are good but he isnt exactly pulling moves out of the Matrix, he is hittable and not that fluid and Wilders timing and accuracy gets totally underated at times. Joshua is not comfortable with unorthadox movement either and thats pretty much all Wilder does. But all that unorthadox movement and sloppiness makes Wilder as vulnerable as he is dangerous.
Wilder can`t box simple. Sure he`d have a puncher`s chance but nothing more, ii you think it`s a 50/50 fight you`re delusional.
The thing I notice is the AJ has a lot of trouble with movement. Wilder has long ass arms and pretty decent, awkward movement. AJ needs someone to plant there feet directly in-front of him and not move for him to hit them. When Takam and Parker were moving AJ was useless.
It's a dangerous fight for Joshua, lets not pretend Wilder doesn't have the kind of KO power to pull off the upset. But Joshua is clearly the superior fighter in a lot of areas. Joshua will 100% out box Wilder. Wilder's jab is pathetic in comparison. Wilder out boxed by a slow, pedestrian Ortiz, out boxed by C level Washinton, out boxed for periods vs the tiny Szpilka, Wilder has only one hope of winning a Hail Mary right hand. If Wilder wins it would be like when Rahman KO'ed Lewis, out of the blue and the rematch would be an even more brutal turnaround.
If he can't box how is he a champion? I'm a fan of neither fighter but there is nothing remotely "special" about Joshua's skills.
Parker was a very good fighter, a world champion, who was neutralised by AJ`s boxing skill. Wilder`s like a bar room brawler. It`s night and day.
True his size and movement will likely ensure Joshau just doesn't steam roll right over him. Joshua will likely need to break him down a bit before he can set up the big KO. Wilder will do what he did vs Ortiz and be patient and try and box Joshua. He'll lose many rounds but it will keep Wilder in the fight in the hopes Joshua makes a mistake so Wilder can pounce and get the KO. Joshua will rack up the rounds and either slowly find his range and get the KO or Wilder will shock the world and KO Joshua. I think the former is more likely though. Joshua didn't show any stamina issues last night and was only hit cleanly after landing hard shots of his own and in a scenario where Wilder has to take a shot to land a shot, I can't see Wilder being upright long enough to land that Hail Mary right hand.
Parker was the weakest of the champions. I personally think he's 4 or 5 in the division, he's solid but nothing special. Now I'm not saying Wilder is special or great but he posses' tangible that will trouble AJ who has no natural rhythm what so ever.
True but style wise it is much more dangerous match up. AJ is hittable. He lumbers forward with his hands up, never really moving his head or anything. His defense is his reach and jab. And he has shown to have trouble getting his punches off when the opponent is moving. Wilder is a pretty good mover, and can end a fight with one punch at all times.
This is so true, he seems to be just about straight lines, which isnt usually the end of the world in this division but Wilder is all over the place. So many people either on Joshuas dick or Wilders here but the truth is both bring things that can win or lose them a fight between them. Both are flawed fighters.
