Okay, great, they didn't rob the Jamaican geezer (although Ms. Wong tried) - now let me neither have my eyes cursed with seeing either fighter ever again.

 

Jimmy Sandhu vs. Jorge Luis Rodríguez, 6 rounds @ super lightweight

 

Jimmy - like his fraternal twin Jake Sandhu, who fought earlier on the undercard - comes in tonight 6-0.

Jorge "Pelado" Rodríguez from Argentina debuted in 2007 and has 42 more bouts than Sandhu - but is one loss away from a .500 record at 23-22-2. He's also even older than Miller from the previous bout... 44 years old.

 

At one point Rodríguez globetrotted and fought good opponents, such as Moses Ndapanda Paulus in Namibia or countryman Fernando David Saucedo - but always in losing efforts, and those were over a decade ago.

 

Bout #3 of 5 on now.

 

This is the highest quality match on the card yet, and it's awful.

 

They've nearly cracked 60 viewers! (but are still hovering around 1% as many viewers as Miguel Cotto's pulling - with green prospects. The last match featured JuanMa López's daughter and that drew in a thousand more viewers, whereas this one has raked in ...ten.

 

The color commentator is Sara Haghighat-Joo Bailey, who is the current WBA female light flyweight champion. Born in British Columbia, of Sierra-Leonean and Persian heritage, she was a 5x national amateur champion in Canada. She has a unification coming up next month at the Hard Rock Casino in Ottowa versus IBF champ Evelyn Nazarena "La Princesita" Bermúdez of Argentina, which they are plugging liberally for her.

Haghighat-Joo Bailey and Bermúdez are both too cute for me to develop a shallow rooting interest... I guess may the best woman win!
