I did a thread like this a few months ago. Here you can use mine. Joshua getting stopped by Mihai Nistor with headgear on, Nistor couldn't hurt Usyk without it. He looks like he's about to cry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUx9sDcl2Cw Joshua being dropped by the talentless windmilling caveman Dillian Whyte at around 3:00 Minutes in. And given like 20 seconds to recover. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDSH8cXtFRQ Joshua getting rocked hard quite a few times all throughout Round 3 by Azerbaijani beast Medzhidov, sans headgear Joshua wouldn't have seen the final bell. 11:30 in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuTHhrnWO8c Joshua getting rocked all over the ring in headgear by Erislandy Savon a match he somehow inexplicably won at the Olympics. Joshua in Blue Savon in Red. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFsQBuWMRgM Full Fight Great Quality on Savon's facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/ErislandySavonCotilla/ You Be The Judge. Really even more than Wilder?? Also people used to and still do say Wlad has a glass jaw and yet he has been reigning as champion for over a decade.
I don't think it's cast iron, but I don't think it's total glass either. He did get up after being dropped by Whyte and lasted the distance. Nistor caught him flush with two cracking left hooks and while he was clearly hurt he was stopped on his feet. He did go the distance with Medzhidov and took some hard shots. So it's not total glass, we won't be seeing him dropped by journeymen or cruisers like we have seen with Fury and Haye but any genuine heavyweight punchers are going to look to test that chin and if they land then anything could happen.
All those clips show is a young novice who only had 40 amateur fights, going in with experienced men, showing great heart and holding his own.
Its not that bad. I think he will be OK thick next should help him absorb some shots. he might get stopped a couple of times but ill be surprised if he ends up someone like Khan where you flinch every time he takes something decent to the head..
This. At this moment in time his chin is an unknown quantity. Plus, there are other intangibles; his legs are thicker now and his technique is better so he doesnt walk on to daft shots. Time will tell as he steps up the competition.
