Before reading this thread bare in mind i know very little about Witter..

but just watched a video on youtube with Witter and Hatton in it and was wondering why this fight never happened???

Seems to me as though it woulda been huge in the UK..

is it becuase like Ricky said Jounier just didnt bring enough to the table or is there deeper issues behind it...

    Was Ricky ducking Witter???

Most of there early career they were both Warren fighters. I'm not sure when Witter left but this fight really should of happened

hitman didn't duck quitter, there was just no logical reason for hatton to fight him at the time when he could go on and fight in america for the big money.
i would love to see hatton fight him now though, then khan can fight marquez.
it's win-win as khan gets better known in the US and hatton gets a tune up or final good-bye fight

They hated each other pretty bad.

Hatton brought all the money to the table, Witter couldn't fill a phone box...... his rationale was 'Why give someone you hate a payday?'

Around 2001 though Witter might have beaten Hatton....... I'm sure that crossed his mind as well. Hatton from 2003 to 2008ish would hand Witter his ass (IMO of course).

Look at Hatton's fights from before Tsyzu and tell me how Witter doesn't fit in. Sky had been trying to get this fight going for a long time someone didn't fancy it and its not witter

Hatton ducked him for years, but now that Witter got his ass handed to him be Alexander Hatton has a valed arguement not to fight him now. I remember Witter once said he would fight him for free.

I thought so , I know the pay day excuse etc but I always figured Witter was all wrong for Hatton , Witter at his best was lightning fast and had power in both hands , I reckon he would have knocked Ricky out.

Either way it was pretty shameful we had ( at the time ) two of the best LWW in the world and there was no fight.

Thats kind of the impression i got as well... seemed as though Witter wanted the fight but just couldn't get it....

Ricky is right though at least on the international level Witter didnt have much of a name behind him

Hatton didn't duck him. Hatton had won titles domestically and now had the chance to go prove himself on the world stage when Witter came knocking.

He fought Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio but was scared of facing Witter? No logic there at all for all the Quitter Witter fan boys.

Hatton ducked Witter to fight Mayweather, its blatantly obvious.

Witter wasn't that fast - certainly not against good opponents.

He was awkward, and could punch with both hands, but don't fool yourself, he wasn't Julian Jackson - I wouldn't see him knocking Hatton out, and is too lazy to outwork Hatton.

He didn't like pressure either, Bradley put the heat on him and he couldn't do anything....... Hatton had better footwork to get himself on Witter's chest also.

Hatton points 116-112 ish or late stoppage..... but he wouldn't look great doing it.

the fight was out there long before Mayweather !

and if Hatton hated him so much why not shut him up ?

Look I was no Witter fan , at his worst i can't think of a more boring fighter to watch but the fact is the fight was there to be had long before mayweather. Witter called Hatton all the pussys under the sun and Hatton wanted **** all to do with him.

    Collazo showed us why !

He was a better option for Ricky than all the cans he fought pre Kostya.
