Hatton I dont think ducked witter explicitly, more a case of whats the point. Witter doesn't sell, he hasnt exactly got the largest fan base, potentially a boring frustrating fight, so better to go after bigger fish. But right now, would be an ok fight, dont think hatton would be interested if there is cotto and JMM on the horizon.

Ah yes, who can forget the massive drawing power and silky smooth excitement machine that is Ray Oliveira.

I don't think the pulling power or the awkward fight should really come into it. Magee Vs Hatton had awkward written all over it & im sure hatton fought a few fighters with less pulling power than Witter. Anyone got an idea of when Witter left Warren?

Admitted Ray Oliviera was bad, but lets look who hatton fought in his next fights after that; Kosta, maussa, collazallo, castillo, mayweather, malig and pac. Would warren/ricky risk missing these pay days, and instead seek out witter? Check witter resume its not exactly a whose who of wins. I not knocking witter, in fact I dont really rate hatton, but I dont think he can be critisised too much that the fight didnt come off in the past, seeing who he has fought instead.

After beating Kostya he had no choice but to step it up, IMO he should've had the Witter fight before then. As I said, as an Aussie I've been checking for this fight since 02-03.

It should have happened before then I agree, I used to watch witter a bit, even thought he stood a really good chance against zab. Whether it was warren (probably) or other factors why the fight didnt come off over those years (00-03), in my opinion, witter should have stepped it up a bit more than he did. Then the fight would have most likely come off as hatton would have been more interested.

He was a late replacement for Zab, and it showed.

Witter first called Haton out when he (Hatton) won the British title, there are at least eight opponents between then and the Tszyu fight which can't be argued away as Hatton having "bigger fish to fry".

Yeah, Warren was the one who avoided putting them in the same ring. I'm sure Hatton wanted the fight at one point but then he surpassed Witter and no longer needed him. Honestly, I wouldn't fight someone I couldn't stand either. Someone who has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Hatton would have beaten the crap out of the Quitter Witter. Hatton fought Tzsyu, Urango, Collazo, Mayweather, Paulie, and Pacquiao. Hatton isn't and hasn't ducked anybody. Witter was always a bum looking for a big payday and good for Hatton for not giving him that big payday.

Hatton ducked him and it was pretty obvious. Witter would've been a tough fight for him and the fight would've been HUGE in the UK. For a fighter to say "I hate you so much I'm not gonna give you a pay day" thats the same thing as saying "I hate you so much I'm not gonna fight you". If he hated Witter so much why wouldnt he want to get him in the ring and **** him up and embarrass him in front of national TV???

Doesnt make much sense to me he seemed to hate Floyd he still fought him...... The fight could've been made before Hatton beat Tzysu. After he beat Tzysu. Before he fought Mayweather. After he fought Mayweather. Before he fought Manny and the fight can still be made. Hatton is coming off of getting put to sleep by Manny and Witter is coming off of getting embarrassed by Alexander.

High risk low reward. If he loses Hatton isn't even the best in Britain. This fight was never going to happen. Now that he is shot he has an excuse so the fight can be made without Hatton losing so much face if he loses.
