at least 50% of TOP Fighters 'given' a chance would have made a good account of themselves and even Win the Title, depending on who's holding it.

there are hundreds of examples of Top guys beating other Top guys, who beat the Champ or a Champ and who circled at the Top Long enough for worth.

as I say all the time, Boxing History is littered with Great Fighters.

We saw a true Cinderella Man with James Buster Douglas knockout victory over champion Mike Tyson on Feb 11 1990 in Tokyo, Japan. Douglas was a huge underdog that night, but he had nothing to lose, those are the most dangerous ones.

Axel Schulz should have gotten the decision against George Foreman.

Yeah shame the team didn't last longer, I would of loved to have seen Doom vs Harlem Heat.

Douglas wasn't a journeyman. If he had Hagler's
work ethic he may still be champ.

I agree with you about Braddock. But In fairness, Carnera and Sharkey weren’t journeyman, even if they weren’t necessarily the best during their brief reigns as champions. Both those guys were legit world class fighters in their day

He nearly did as like a one-week-notice substitute to fight Holyfield when Francesco Damiani pulled out with a training injury.

I think it was Michael Katz who wrote: Subs are only heroes in sandwiches. Good line.
