Who are some boxers in the past and present that started out as a journey men but evolved into a high level boxer? Mine is Jimmy Young, started as a eh journey men and really started to pop off against Ali, Norton, Lyle, and Foreman afterwards.
Would you classify him as a journeyman before his opportunity against Margarito? And beyond? Or would you consider him a prospect coming through against low level opposition.
FFS...Martinez has three losses in his career... learn the meaning of journeymen...or just log off...
Rosado. Not exactly a journeymen but does have a **** load of losses. He’s been on a mean streak. I thought he beat jacobs and hope he stops Jaime
Hmmmm , would Oliver McCall fit the bill here?. I'm struggling to think of journeymen who who can be mentioned or mixed with the elite.
maravilla went from argentina to spain looking for a future after being fed to margarito, and from spain to USA fighting "whoever", to come back to spain to continue fighting "whoever", and even in great britain.. Most of the time for peanuts. Maravilla was pretty much the definition of a journeyman who managed to succeed BIG. Starting from ****, no big promotions, no big contracts from the beginning, no **** at all when he started, just the road and the gloves and a big pair of balls. If you have no ****ing clue about what you talk about, you should stfu. And the number of loses has nothing to do with being a journeyman or not. A journey man is the man who fights whoever, wherever and mostly for peanuts being the B side and the underdog most of the time. Those who lose a lot are losers. A journeyman does not have to be a loser. Maravilla is an example, bolotniks (not so successfull but still) or rungvisai are other examples too. You should write less and read more in this forum.
