Ray didnt duck anyone, and that is my point. That is what they were saying at the time. Now it is true that Ray wouldnt fight if he didnt feel like fighting, he didnt duck. It was said that Ray would walk into an arena the day of a fight and say "Not enough people here tonight Im not fighting" and he wouldnt fight.

 

The only prime, upper level opponent in a particular weight division that he's fought in the past 6 years is Hatton

If Floyd was European, people would be talking an incredible amount of **** about him handpicking shot names and nobodies

But with the American media behind him he gets his dick sucked for fight opponents like Baldomir

 

Yeah I know also Ray use to fight ever 2 to 3 weeks against the best which is crazy and hard to believe these days, but his brain was probably real **** up once retired

 

Anyone of the fighters mentioned in this thread that are current.

Calzaghe, Floyd, Paq... they've all fought tough ass fighters on the back of very solid careers, they all deserve their chance in the spotlight, trying to say one is better than the other based on resume is pointless when there are questions open on all of them regarding their competition.

Name me a single boxer (other than ODLH) who can say "I've fought the best fighters available at the time I was boxing"

ODLH can, not just because he's got the balls to take anyone on but he's also got the sales machine behind him - if ODLH wants to fight you, he fights you, because he's getting you a career pay day in the process.

Many fights fall over due to the money not being there, with ODLH? That's never a problem.

You are right. If he wanted to be known as the guy who took the title from the worst WW Champ ever, then he had all that right. But ons has to accept the consequences of it being seen as not very impressive, then adding the manner to which he won, in a rather boring fashion. Not all World champs are equal...

 

So was Hasim Rahman. Does that mean he was actually good? Everybody knew it was a fluke. Baldomir was a journeyman who got lucky, not even on the level of Buster Douglas or Hasim Rahman (who both actually beat HOF fighters for their titles). Baldomir beat a fraud who beat a fraud who beat a fraud who beat a great boxer who lost a mental matchup
