At the end of his career, Hopkins has gotten himself in the best shape possible that he can, which physically looks very impressive and the training camp looked great also, so that he can fight with Joe Calzaghe, a ring monster at age 43.

What is Joy Boy doing? Fighting a pathetic rematch with DLH and planning a rematch with Hatton, avoiding Miguel Cotto, a lesser level fighter than Joe Calzaghe is, even at Calzaghe's 36. Joy Boy simply wants fights he has to do the bare minimum in for the most money, it's very clear that even though Hopkins has cherry picked a bit and even though this is one of the biggest pay day's he can get currently, he does care about his legacy in ways that Mayweather does it.

Mayweather ought to take a lesson from Hopkins. Cherry pick a little, but take the ****ing fights that A) the fans want to see and B) that actually matter.

Hopkins is taking this fight solely because he thinks he can win.

Yeah, Mayweather's already lost credibility with me.. especially if he goes through with the Hatton rematch, someone who he KNOCKED OUT. He used DLH as a boost into superstardom, and he took Hatton as a big money, low risk fight.. which is all fine, but rematching BOTH of them? If he avoids Cotto is legacy will be permanently damaged.

He's already overrated to begin with, people really ought to view those 2 Castillo fights and compare him with his contemporaries, they'll be pleasantly surprised to see that even a prime Bernard Hopkins is a more complete and better overall fighter. Then view Floyd at Welter in general and the Jesus Chavez fight, he's far from unbeatable, get him in with a real A class elite fighter and he'll show big vulnerability.

Nah I believe Floyd Mayweather should take a lesson from Joe Calzaghe. Move to Wales and fight Euro-bums for 10 years, waiting for all the greats of that era to get old and retire, and then at the age of 35 take on a 43 year old well past his prime. Considering Calzaghe is nearing breaking the record of title defenses, I think that is the best route to go.

If Mayweather had Hopkins' mentality and desire to fight the best, we wouldn't have to worry about him never facing Cotto.

I respect Floyd for what he's accomplished. But compared to Hopkins and Calzaghe, my respect for him is much less at the moment.

Even if he's overrated he can atleast still get peoples' respect by trying to leave a significant mark on boxing. He's avoiding his biggest, most logical challenge out there. And as long as people keep banging the drum about it it's only going to look worse and worse for Floyd if he keeps avoiding it.

if he really goes through with the hoya and hatton rematches, pbf should just hightail it out of the sport. those are really meaningless fights.

Yeah by Ring magazine, nobody with any realistic views on boxing rated Hatton as anything P4P at 147.

But if you want to by Ring magazine, Hopkins is ranked #4 and Calzaghe #5, get the difference Joy Boy *****?:yep

The worst are Floyd Hater Bitches like you. Floyd just took on Oscar De La Hoya and the a ring p4p top 10, the best 140 lb fighter in the world all in the same year and you are questioning his willingness to fight big names and the best? I rate Floyds dominance over Oscar much higher then Cotto's survival against Mosley, atleast Floyd and Oscar are somewhat close in age.

Floyd is waiting for the whining and build up to reach a fever pitch so he can cash off beating another hype. Thats if Cotto survives against Margarito, which given his history of getting jacked in his face, is no guarantee.

I doubt he'll fight Hatton again. Thats just talk. Eventually he'll get around to pasting Cotto, sometime in 2009.
