Floyd is not Roy Jones Jr. here, not even close. Several guys from 147-154 can beat him and many, many fighters from these weight classes in the past would beat him and a few would severely own him.

You don't have a supernatural deity fighting at 147 right now, so stop acting like it.

If he fought Forrest at 154 in his next instead of Oscar, he'd lose and lose badly vs. that style. Same goes for several others.

Cotto and Williams would serve him a loss, not because Williams is on that level, but because of William's insane size advantage and style.

Somehow, some of you Joy Boy's think that taking 5 rounds to adjust against the likes of Ricky Hatton is impressive. It's not, the ATG's around Welter in the past couple of era's would have had him figured out in round 1 and would have starched him accordingly.

Floyd is not a great Welter, he's declining. Please grow up and stop acting like he's currently unbeatable and overrating Joy Boy, outside of 130, he's beatable by guys on his level or better and at 147, beatable by guys with intangible advantages.

Floyd is pretty good though, so I don't know.

Never did I once question his class and that he was phenominal at 130 and 135, 130 especially, likely the #1 H2H in that weight class.

Never did I say he was 'good'. He is a great fighter, these Joy Boy's just have the WRONG perspective and think he's an unbeatable god within the current crop, much less better crop's of the past.

What a silly, pointless thread. This forum should be called East Side Playground.

What do you think about Mayweather v Dzinziruk at 154?

PBF has more mental strength than Roy Jones.
Roy may be more athletically gifted, but PBF is the better fighter.

Funny how these sorts of comments always come from the WBO boys' fanatics.

    Dzinziruk by decision

I think he's very underrated and he has a hell of a jab. He would likely control the distance and pace of the fight.

Please. Roy Jones is one of the best fighters to ever step into the ring.

We judge fighters on what they are as whole fighters, intangibles and all. Roy at his best was a much better and much harder to beat fighter than Floyd, Floyd is more skilled, no doubt, skills don't always equate into being the best however.

He's certainly not the better fighter.

I think it's quite obvious he has.
I'm a boxer myself, and I've been following this sport for a long time.. I believe I recognize a strong minded fighter when I see one perform.
Needless to say, PBF is probably the strongest fighter out there, mentally... right now.

Roy is more athletically gifted, sure.
Roy pretty much fought the same all the time, using his speed, reflexes and strength to overwhelm his opponents.
He was by far more athletically gifted than Floyd is.
