Floyd's best weight was 130 BY FAR, not even close.

This thread is really about some Calzaghe fanboy trying to prove he is, infact, the best of our era under the guise of something else.

To be honest when Floyd is 35 we can talk about compairsons, he is in his prime and is very good.

The 31 year old Floyd and the 31 year old Roy have shown very little mental weakness, unless you count Floyd crying when he beat Baldomir a mental weakness :blood.

I would say that Roy's beating the **** out of Ruiz is more impressive then anything floyds done at 140 or above.

Is it? I thought he was saying that Floyd is not as good as Roy Jones?

I think that I either put it wrong, or I am misunderstood.
What I meant to say is that, Floyd has more fighting spirit in him than Roy has, and you're right.. Roy looked awesome against his competition. Roy folded under pressure, when he had to make the leap back from heavyweight, Floyd didn't fold under pressure against DLH, and surely did not against Hatton or the second Castillo fight.

Mmmm......maybe I'm overly suspicious it just seems that all these fanatics have an ulterior motive with these kinds of threads. They are only started to cause controversy.

That's not folding under pressure, that's folding under age and wear & tear.

Which essentially is quite humorous. So that leads one to say, whats the intent on this thread? Oscar was Floyd's Ruiz. The higest weight he's fought at against a much more game opponent than Ruiz, in the biggest fight in history ($ wise, production wise), with all of Oscar's demands (gloves, ring, etc.), on Oscar's promotion. Bigger stage, bigger fight, better opponent.

And after Toney beat Ruiz (steroids or not), kind of diminished the whole "First middleweight in 100 years garbage". Ruiz is perfect opponent for a quick guy moving up.

Cotto would definitly NOT serve Floyd a loss. Cotto would be humiliated. Williams I can see handing a loss to Floyd based on sheer size and style alone.

I also think a win against Williams is the biggest thing to do at WW. Overcoming his height and reach is bigger then any win anywhere else at 147.

:blood Steroids or not? Mate dont be silly.

Ruiz outweighed Roy by 30lbs. It is a much better win than Oscar who outweighed Floyd by about 10. A guy who started his carrier at 154 beating a 226lb HW Title holder is much better than beating Oscar for Floyd.

I think that is a pretty naive way of looking at things. It is possible to rationalize things that have not happened. For instance is it really a stretch to say that with his freakish size, good skill, and excellent work rate Williams couldn't beat floyd? And if it is not a stretch then why say the guy looks unbeatable? Because he hasn't looked bad against the guys he's faced? That would be irrational.
