I would agree with that it is to cause contraversy but it is because of Floyd fans rating Floyd to highly at 147-154. That is why I am commenting anyway.

What do you think is Floyd's best weight? Or do you disagree with the by far?

    Forrest? Simms? Dzinziruk?

WOW... I don't about this forum anymore.. tell me you guys are ****in joking...

None of these guys can hang with Floyd. Just because they fight one weight class above Floyd, you think the disparity in size really neutralizes the disparity in skill? Forrest got his ears boxed off by a much smaller Ike Quartey, so don't give me this "Forrest has the physical advantage on Floyd so he'll beat him" bull****. PBF waxed a much taller Corrales in his prime, in case people are forgetting... Forrest is an underachiever. He had no business losing that 2nd fight to Mayorga, nor to Quartey. He was a forgotten soul among boxing fans. He beats Baldomir and suddenly he's the Floyd killer now? Riiiight...

Simms wouldn't win a round against Floyd. The guy throws like 15 punches a round. Did you see the Alcine fight? It's okay if you didnt. I almost fell asleep during it too.

Dzinziruk knocking out Floyd.. funniest thing I've read all year.

Roy has weakness with southpaws, rangy fighters, and effective pressure fighters. Period. How many fights in a row have they pressed the fight as "this guy may put enough pressure to crack Mayweather" and how many times in a row has it failed? Mayweather's a smarter more skilled fighter than RJJ. Mayweather has the kind of defense where he'll still be able to box as skill declines. That's the difference. When Floyd loses speed, he won't be elusive because he's a master pocket fighter. Roy got caught twice with the same holes in the earmuffs guard, there's no comparison on defense.

I loved Roy when he was in his prime, but hated him for his opponent selection. Hated it!

Floyd's fought better consistent opposition. Period.

**** thread either way. What did you make of Roy the other week anyway? It was a nice clean fight to watch & Roy seemed to enjoy himself. Putting aside who he was fighting do you think he showed enough in that fight to not only warrant a fight with Calz or Hops but to actually beat either of them?

I don't see how that's even possible to be honest. 135, where he showed vulnerabilities to Castillo? 140, where he beat Gatti? Wow! And please don't tell me 147. At 130 he was arguably the best H2H ever at the weight. Please, PLEASE tell me how you disagree.

Lil' Floyd isn't even a big 147lbs'er though.
And Oscar @ 154, he isn't small there at all.
I would say Oscar is twice the fighter John Ruiz is, and obviously a more notable win for anyone.

Has he? Gatti, Brussels and Mitchell as a three fight run is a hela consistnacy. Judah who has been abused by Tzsyu before and Cotto after. Baldomir the worst linal WW champ in history. Rematching an old ass De La Hoya who he beat already, which is a good win btw.

Above 140 his resume is not impressive, infact Cotto's is more impressive by a mile. Consistantly better opposition.

Corley, Brussles, Gatti, Judah, Baldomir and De La Hoya. A model of constistantly fighting the best. :nut

Roy was great beating Tito i enjoyed the fight a great deal. :D

He has done "enough" in terms of looking pretty good. Hopkins would win a UD. Calzaghe would TKO Roy at this stage. After he loses to one of these two, hopfuly not in a brutal mannor he should retire.

Floyd would get beat by Sweet Pea at 140, and not the dude that bangs other dudes in the asses that is on this forum.

Roy only showed vulnerabilities to southpaws (Tarver) and pressure fighters (Johnson) when he was clearly sliding down a hill.

Virgil Hill was a rangy fighter. Roy didn't show any weaknesses with him.

A prime Jones never had trouble with anybody to the extent Floyd did with Castillo. He was never being out-quicked, countered, and stunned like Mayweather was against Judah during the first 4 rounds. And he never allowed anybody to control the distance and pace of a fight like Mayweather did with Hatton for the first 6 before adjusting.

If anybody has weaknesses with pressure fighters and southpaws, it's not Roy, it's Floyd.

In all fairness, it was Ricky Hatton who ducked Floyd Mayweather at 140. The outcome wouldn't have been different (in fact, it would have probably been worse for Ricky), but like you touched on, I cant consider beating Hatton at 147 better than beating him at 140.
